(I) REMAINING AAMAL OF LAYLAT AL MAB'AS
Third: In al-Balad al-Amin, al-Kaf’ami has instructed the following:
Say the following supplicatory prayer on the Divine Mission Night:
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّيْ اَسْاَلُكَ بِالتَّجَلِّيْ الْاَعْظَمِ
O Allah, I beseech You in the name of the Grandest Manifestation
فِي هٰذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ الْمُعَظَّمِ
at this night in this glorified month
وَ الْمُرْسَلِ الْمُكَرَّمِ
and in the name of the honored Messenger
اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِهِ
to send blessings to Muhammad and his Household,
وَ اَنْ تَغْفِرَ لَنَا مَا اَنْتَ بِهِ مِنَّا اَعْلَمُ
and forgive us that which You know better than we do.
يَا مَنْ يَعْلَمُ وَ لَا نَعْلَمُ
O He Who knows while we do not!
اَللّٰهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي لَيْلَتِنَا هٰذِهِ
O Allah, (please do) bless us at this night,
الَّتِيْ بِشَرَفِ الرِّسَالَةِ فَضَّلْتَهَا
which You have exalted with the honor of the Divine Mission,
وَ بِكَرَامَتِكَ اَجْلَلْتَهَا
You have esteemed with Your honoring,
وَ بِالْمَحَلِّ الشَّرِيْفِ اَحْلَلْتَهَا
and You have raised to the Honorable Place.
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَاِنَّا نَسْاَلُكَ بِالْمَبْعَثِ الشَّرِيْفِ
O Allah, we thus beseech You in the name of the honorable mission,
وَ السَّيِّدِ اللَّطِيْفِ
the gentle master,
وَ الْعُنْصُرِ الْعَفِيْفِ
and the chaste line
اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِهِ
to bless Muhammad and his Household
وَ اَنْ تَجْعَلَ اَعْمَالَنَا فِي هٰذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ
and to decide our deeds at this night
وَ فِي سَاۤئِرِ اللَّيَالِيْ مَقْبُوْلَةً
as well as all the other nights as acceptable,
وَ ذُنُوْبَنَا مَغْفُوْرَةً
our sins as forgiven,
وَ حَسَنَاتِنَا مَشْكُوْرَةً
our good efforts as praiseworthy,
وَ سَيِّئَاتِنَا مَسْتُوْرَةً
our evildoings as concealed,
وَ قُلُوْبَنَا بِحُسْنِ الْقَوْلِ مَسْرُوْرَةً
our hearts as pleased with decent wording,
وَ اَرْزَاقَنَا مِنْ لَدُنْكَ بِالْيُسْرِ مَدْرُوْرَةً
and our sustenance that You decide for us as copiously flowing witheasiness.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّكَ تَرَىٰ وَ لَا تُرَىٰ
O Allah, verily You see [everything] but nothing can see You
وَ اَنْتَ بِالْمَنْظَرِ الْاَعْلٰى
while You are in the Highest Prospect.
وَ اِنَّ اِلَيْكَ الرُّجْعَىٰ وَ الْمُنْتَهَىٰ
And, verily, to You are the final return and goal,
وَ اِنَّ لَكَ الْمَمَاتَ وَ الْمَحْيَا
to You are causing to death and granting of life,
وَ اِنَّ لَكَ الْآخِرَةَ وَ الْأُوْلٰى
and to You are the Last and the First [of all things].
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّا نَعُوْذُ بِكَ اَنْ نَذِلَّ وَ نَخْزَىٰ
O Allah, we surely seek Your protection against meeting of disgrace and shame
وَ اَنْ نَاْتِيَ مَا عَنْهُ تَنْهَىٰ
and against committing that which You have ordered us not to do.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّا نَسْاَلُكَ الْجَنَّةَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ
O Allah, we surely pray You for Paradise, out of Your mercy,
وَ نَسْتَعِيْذُ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ
and we seek Your protection against Hellfire.
فَاَعِذْنَا مِنْهَا بِقُدْرَتِكَ
So, (please do) save us from it, in the name of Your omnipotence.
وَ نَسْاَلُكَ مِنَ الْحُوْرِ الْعِيْنِ
We also pray You for the Paradisiacal Women;
فَارْزُقْنَا بِعِزَّتِكَ
so, please grant us them, in the name of Your might.
وَ اجْعَلْ اَوْسَعَ اَرْزَاقِنَا عِنْدَ كِبَرِ سِنِّنَا
(Please do) cause the most expansive of our sustenance to be given to us when we become old aged,
وَ اَحْسَنَ اَعْمَالِنَا عِنْدَ اقْتِرَابِ آجَالِنَا
and the best of our deeds to be at the time close to our death.
وَ اَطِلْ فِي طَاعَتِكَ
(Please do) extend [our ages and make us spend them] in acts of obedience to You
وَ مَا يُقَرِّبُ اِلَيْكَ
and in all that which draws us near to You,
وَ يُحْظِيْ عِنْدَكَ
in all that which allow us to enjoy a good position with You,
وَ يُزْلِفُ لَدَيْكَ اَعْمَارَنَا
and in all that which make our lives acceptable by You.
وَ اَحْسِنْ فِي جَمِيْعِ اَحْوَالِنَا وَ اُمُوْرِنَا مَعْرِفَتَنَا
(Please do) improve our recognition of You under all circumstance and conditions,
وَ لَا تَكِلْنَا اِلٰى اَحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ فَيَمُنَّ عَلَيْنَا
do not refer us to any of Your beings lest they shall always remind us of their favors to us,
وَ تَفَضَّلْ عَلَيْنَا بِجَمِيْعِ حَوَاۤئِجِنَا لِلدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ
favor us by settling all our needs in this world as well as the Next World,
وَ ابْدَأْ بِآبَاۤئِنَا وَ اَبْنَاۤئِنَا
and do the same thing to our forefathers, our descendants,
وَ جَمِيْعِ اِخْوَانِنَا الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ
and all our brethren-in-faith
فِي جَمِيْعِ مَا سَاَلْنَاكَ لِاَنْفُسِنَا
with regard to all that which we have besought You for ourselves.
يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّا نَسْاَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الْعَظِيْمِ،
O Allah, we beseech You by Your Grand Name
وَ مُلْكِكَ الْقَدِيْمِ
and Your Eternal Kingdom
اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
to send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
وَ اَنْ تَغْفِرَ لَنَا الذَّنْبَ الْعَظِيْمَ
and forgive our grave sins,
اِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الْعَظِيْمَ اِلَّا الْعَظِيْمُ
for none can forgive the grave save the Allgreat.
اَللّٰهُمَّ وَ هٰذَا رَجَبٌ الْمُكَرَّمُ
O Allah, this is Rajab, the honored month,
الَّذِيْ اَكْرَمْتَنَا بِهِ اَوَّلُ اَشْهُرِ الْحُرُمِ
which You have honored us through it, being the first of the Sacred Months,
اَكْرَمْتَنَا بِهِ مِنْ بَيْنِ الْأُمَمِ
and You have selected us for this honor from amongst the other nations.
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ يَا ذَا الْجُوْدِ وَ الْكَرَمِ
So, ail praise be to You, O Lord of Magnanimity and Generosity!
فَاَسْاَلُكَ بِهِ وَ بِاسْمِكَ
I thus beseech You by Your Name,
الْاَعْظَمِ الْاَعْظَمِ الْاَعْظَمِ
the grandest, the grandest, the grandest,
الْاَجَلِّ الْاَكْرَمِ
the most majestic, the most honorable,
الَّذِيْ خَلَقْتَهُ فَاسْتَقَرَّ فِي ظِلِّكَ
that You have created so that it has settled under Your Shadow
فَلَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْكَ اِلٰى غَيْرِكَ
and it thus shall never transfer to anyone other than You,
اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ الطَّاهِرِيْنَ
I beseech You to send blessings to Muhammad and his Household the immaculate,
وَ اَنْ تَجْعَلَنَا مِنَ الْعَامِلِيْنَ فِيْهِ بِطَاعَتِكَ
and include us, during this month, with those who practice acts of obedience to You
وَ الْآمِلِيْنَ فِيهِ لِشَفَاعَتِكَ
and those who hope for Your admission.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اهْدِنَا اِلٰى سَوَاءِ السَّبِيْلِ
O Allah, (please do) lead us to the Right Path
وَ اجْعَلْ مَقِيْلَنَا عِنْدَكَ خَيْرَ مَقِيْلٍ
and choose for us the best resting-place with You,
فِي ظِلٍّ ظَلِيْلٍ
under a dense shade
وَ مُلْكٍ جَزِيْلٍ
and abundant possession.
فَاِنَّكَ حَسْبُنَا وَ نِعْمَ الْوَكِيْلُ
Surely, You are Sufficient for us! Most Excellent are You and in You do we trust!
اَللّٰهُمَّ اقْلِبْنَا مُفْلِحِيْنَ مُنْجِحِيْنَ
O Allah, (please do) make us return (to You) with success and victory;
غَيْرَ مَغْضُوْبٍ عَلَيْنَا وَ لَا ضَالِّيْنَ
neither accursed (by You) nor misleading (the Right Path),
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
out of Your mercy, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّي اَسْاَلُكَ بِعَزَاۤئِمِ مَغْفِرَتِكَ
O Allah, I earnestly beseech You, in the name of the matters that bring about Your forgiveness
وَ بِوَاجِبِ رَحْمَتِكَ
and the matters that incumbently achieve Your mercy,
السَّلَامَةَ مِنْ كُلِّ اِثْمٍ
to grant me safety from all sins,
وَ الْغَنِيْمَةَ مِنْ كُلِّ بِرٍّ
gain of all decencies,
وَ الْفَوْزَ بِالْجَنَّةِ
attainment of Paradise,
وَ النَّجَاةَ مِنَ النَّارِ
and redemption against Hellfire.
اَللّٰهُمَّ دَعَاكَ الدَّاعُوْنَ وَ دَعَوْتُكَ
O Allah, just in as the suppliants have besought You, I am beseeching You.
وَ سَاَلَكَ السَّاۤئِلُوْنَ وَ سَاَلْتُكَ
Just as the implorers have begged You, I am begging You.
وَ طَلَبَ اِلَيْكَ الطَّالِبُوْنَ وَ طَلَبْتُ اِلَيْكَ
Just as the requesters have asked You, I am asking You.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَنْتَ الثِّقَةُ وَ الرَّجَاءُ
O Allah, You are (my) trust and hope
وَ اِلَيْكَ مُنْتَهَى الرَّغْبَةِ فِي الدُّعَاءِ
and You are the ultimate desire in my supplications.
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِهِ
O Allah, send blessings to Muhammad and his Household
وَ اجْعَلِ الْيَقِيْنَ فِي قَلْبِيْ
and establish conviction in my hear,
وَ النُّوْرَ فِيْ بَصَرِيْ
light in mv sight,
وَ النَّصِيْحَةَ فِي صَدْرِيْ
well-wishing in my chest,
وَ ذِكْرَكَ بِاللَّيْلِ وَ النَّهَارِ عَلٰى لِسَانِي
remembering You on my tongue day and night,
وَ رِزْقًا وَاسِعًا غَيْرَ مَمْنُوْنٍ وَ لَا مَحْظُوْرٍ فَارْزُقْنِيْ
and expansive sustenance that is neither failing nor banned. So, please provide me sustenance
وَ بَارِكْ لِيْ فِيْمَا رَزَقْتَنِيْ
and bless that which You decide for me,
وَ اجْعَلْ غِنَايَ فِي نَفْسِيْ
make me self-sufficient,
وَ رَغْبَتِيْ فِيْمَا عِنْدَكَ
make me desire for none save You,
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ۔
out of Your mercy, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!
You may then prostrate yourself and repeat the following litany one hundred times:
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ هَدَانَا لِمَعْرِفَتِهِ
All praise be to Allah Who has guided us to the recognition of Him,
وَ خَصَّنَا بِوِلَايَتِهِ
included us exclusively with the protection of Him,
وَ وَفَّقَنَا لِطَاعَتِهِ
and granted us the obedience to Him.
شُكْرًا شُكْرًا۔
Thanks, thanks.
When you raise your head (i.e. finish the prostration), you may say the following:
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّي قَصَدْتُكَ بِحَاجَتِيْ
O Allah, I am turning my face toward You asking for the settlement of my needs,
وَ اعْتَمَدْتُ عَلَيْكَ بِمَسْاَلَتِيْ
I depend upon You in submitting my problem,
وَ تَوَجَّهْتُ اِلَيْكَ بِاَئِمَّتِيْ وَ سَادَتِيْ
and I submit to You in the name of my Imams and Masters.
اَللّٰهُمَّ انْفَعْنَا بِحُبِّهِمْ
O Allah, benefit us by our love for them,
وَ اَوْرِدْنَا مَوْرِدَهُمْ
make us follow their examples,
وَ ارْزُقْنَا مُرَافَقَتَهُمْ
grant us their companionship,
وَ اَدْخِلْنَا الْجَنَّةَ فِي زُمْرَتِهِمْ
and allow us to enter Paradise with their group,
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ۔
by Your mercy, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!
Sayyid Ibn Tawus has mentioned that this supplicatory prayer is said on the Divine Mission Day (i.e. the twenty-seventh of Rajab).
