Fifth: Shaykh al-Tusi has narrated that the following holy Signature10 of Imam al-Mahdi (a.s.) was conveyed to the grand Shaykh Abu-Ja’far Muhammad ibn ‘Uthman ibn Sa’id:
On each day in Rajab, you may say the following supplicatory prayer:
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّي اَسْاَلُكَ بِمَعَانِيْ جَمِيْعِ مَا يَدْعُوْكَ بِهِ وُلَاةُ اَمْرِكَ
O Allah, I implore You in the name of the meanings of all the names by which You are prayed by Your representatives,
الْمَاْمُوْنُوْنَ عَلٰى سِرِّكَ
the trustees with Your secret,
الْمُسْتَبْشِرُوْنَ بِاَمْرِكَ
the conveyers of Your affairs,
الْوَاصِفُوْنَ لِقُدْرَتِكَ
the describers of Your power,
الْمُعْلِنُوْنَ لِعَظَمَتِكَ
and the announcers of Your greatness.
اَسْاَلُكَ بِمَا نَطَقَ فِيْهِمْ مِنْ مَشِيَّتِكَ
I implore You by Your will that has manifested itself through them
فَجَعَلْتَهُمْ مَعَادِنَ لِكَلِمَاتِكَ
and thus You have made them the essences of Your Words,
وَ اَرْكَانًا لِتَوْحِيْدِكَ
the indications to Your Oneness,
وَ آيَاتِكَ وَ مَقَامَاتِكَ الَّتِيْ لَا تَعْطِيْلَ لَهَا
the signs leading to You, and Your Standings that are non-stop
فِي كُلِّ مَكَانٍ يَعْرِفُكَ بِهَا مَنْ عَرَفَكَ
in each place where those who recognize You could only recognize You through them.
لَا فَرْقَ بَيْنَكَ وَ بَيْنَهَا اِلَّا اَنَّهُمْ عِبَادُكَ وَ خَلْقُكَ
No difference between You and them save that they are Your servants and creatures.
فَتْقُهَا وَ رَتْقُهَا بِيَدِكَ
The opening and the closing of all things are in Your hand alone.
بَدْؤُهَا مِنْكَ وَ عَوْدُهَا اِلَيْكَ
The inauguration and the conclusion of all things belong to You alone.
اَعْضَادٌ وَ اَشْهَادٌ
(They are thus only) supporters, witnesses,
وَ مُنَاةٌ وَ اَذْوَادٌ
wishing (Your mercy), protecting (Your religion),
وَ حَفَظَةٌ وَ رُوَّادٌ
saving (Your laws), and pioneers (to the obedience to You).
فَبِهِمْ مَلَأْتَ سَمَاءَكَ وَ اَرْضَكَ
With them have You filled Your heavens and earth
حَتّٰى ظَهَرَ اَنْ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ
until it has become obvious that there is no god save You.
فَبِذٰلِكَ اَسْاَلُكَ
I thus implore You in the name of all this,
وَ بِمَوَاقِعِ الْعِزِّ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ
in the name of the sites of dignity in Your mercy,
وَ بِمَقَامَاتِكَ وَ عَلَامَاتِكَ
in the name of Your standings and Signs,
اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِهِ
to send blessings to Muhammad and his Household
وَ اَنْ تَزِيْدَنِيْ اِيْمَانًا وَ تَثْبِيْتًا
and increase my faith and firmness.
يَا بَاطِنًا فِي ظُهُوْرِهِ
O He Who is Immanent in His Evidence!
وَ ظَاهِرًا فِي بُطُوْنِهِ وَ مَكْنُوْنِهِ
O He Who is Evident in His Immanence and in His hiddenness!
يَا مُفَرِّقًا بَيْنَ النُّوْرِ وَ الدَّيْجُوْرِ
O He Who sets apart light from murk!
يَا مَوْصُوْفًا بِغَيْرِ كُنْهٍ
O He Whom is described without recognition of his real essence!
وَ مَعْرُوْفًا بِغَيْرِ شِبْهٍ
and He Whom is recognized without having anything like Him!
حَادَّ كُلِّ مَحْدُوْدٍ
O Edger of all edged things!
وَ شَاهِدَ كُلِّ مَشْهُودٍ
O Witness of all done things!
وَ مُوْجِدَ كُلِّ مَوْجُودٍ
O Bringer into being all existent things!
وَ مُحْصِيَ كُلِّ مَعْدُودٍ
O Knower of the number of all countable things!
وَ فَاقِدَ كُلِّ مَفْقُودٍ،
O Knower of the place of all lost things!
لَيْسَ دُوْنَكَ مِنْ مَعْبُوْدٍ
None is worshipped except You.
اَهْلَ الْكِبْرِيَاءِ وَ الْجُوْدِ
You are the worthiest of all pride and magnanimity.
يَا مَنْ لَا يُكَيَّفُ بِكَيْفٍ
O He about Whom, it is infeasible to as ‘how’
وَ لَا يُؤَيَّنُ بِاَيْنٍ
and it is infeasible to ask ‘where’!
يَا مُحْتَجِبًا عَنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ
O He Who is concealed from all sights!
يَا دَيْمُوْمُ يَا قَيُّوْمُ وَ عَالِمَ كُلِّ مَعْلُوْمٍ
O Everlasting, O Self-Subsistent, O Knower of all known things!
صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِهِ وَ عَلٰى عِبَادِكَ الْمُنْتَجَبِيْنَ
(Please do) send blessings to Muhammad, his Household, Your selected servants,
وَ بَشَرِكَ الْمُحْتَجِبِينَ
Your concealed human beings,
وَ مَلَاۤئِكَتِكَ الْمُقَرَّبِيْنَ
Your favorite angels,
وَ الْبُهْمِ الصَّافِّيْنَ الْحَافِّيْنَ
and the Angels who draw themselves out in ranks and who throng (round the Divine Throne),
وَ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي شَهْرِنَا هٰذَا الْمُرَجَّبِ الْمُكَرَّمِ
and bless us in this month—the honored and dignified—
وَ مَا بَعْدَهُ مِنَ الْاَشْهُرِ الْحُرُمِ
as well as the next sacred months,
وَ اَسْبِغْ عَلَيْنَا فِيْهِ النِّعَمَ
pour upon us Your graces in this month,
وَ اَجْزِلْ لَنَا فِيْهِ الْقِسَمَ
grant us abundant shares of blessings,
وَ اَبْرِرْ لَنَا فِيْهِ الْقَسَمَ
admit our requests,
بِاسْمِكَ الْاَعْظَمِ الْاَعْظَمِ الْاَجَلِّ الْاََكْرَمِ
in the name of Your Name, the Greatest, the Greatest, the Loftiest, the Most Honored
الَّذِيْ وَضَعْتَهُ عَلَى النَّهَارِ فَاَضَاءَ
that You put on daylight and it thus lit up
وَ عَلَى اللَّيْلِ فَاَظْلَمَ
and You put on night and it thus darkened,
وَ اغْفِرْ لَنَا مَا تَعْلَمُ مِنَّا وَ مَا لَا نَعْلَمُ
forgive us all that which You know about us and all that which we do not know,
وَ اعْصِمْنَا مِنَ الذُّنُوْبِ خَيْرَ الْعِصَمِ
protect us against sins with the best of protection,
وَ اكْفِنَا كَوَافِيَ قَدَرِكَ
save us against the acts that You predetermine,
وَ امْنُنْ عَلَيْنَا بِحُسْنِ نَظَرِكَ
bestow upon us with Your superb looking,
وَ لَا تَكِلْنَا اِلٰى غَيْرِكَ
do not leave us in the hands of anyone other than You,
وَ لَا تَمْنَعْنَا مِنْ خَيْرِكَ
do not prevent us from Your goodness,
وَ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيْمَا كَتَبْتَهُ لَنَا مِنْ اَعْمَارِنَا
bless us during the age that You have decided for us,
وَ اَصْلِحْ لَنَا خَبِيْئَةَ اَسْرَارِنَا
make righteous for us our inner selves,
وَ اَعْطِنَا مِنْكَ الْاَمَانَ
grant us Your security,
وَ اسْتَعْمِلْنَا بِحُسْنِ الْاِيمَانِ
make us enjoy perfect faith,
وَ بَلِّغْنَا شَهْرَ الصِّيَامِ
and make us catch the month of fasting
وَ مَا بَعْدَهُ مِنَ الْاَيَّامِ وَ الْاَعْوَامِ
and the days and years coming after,
يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَ الْاِكْرَامِ۔
O Lord of Majesty and Honor!
