Sixth: Shaykh al-Tusi has also narrated that a document signed by Imam al-Mahdi (a.s.) was received by Shaykh Abu’l-Qasim, Imam al-Mahdi’s representative, comprising that the following supplicatory prayer would be recommendably said in the month of Rajab:

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّي اَسْاَلُكَ بِالْمَوْلُوْدَيْنِ فِي رَجَبٍ

O Allah, I beseech You in the name of those who were born in Rajab,

مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الثَّانِي

Muhammad ibn 'Ali the second

وَ ابْنِهِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُنْتَجَبِ

and his son 'Ali ibn Muhammad the divinely selected;

وَ اَتَقَرَّبُ بِهِمَا اِلَيْكَ خَيْرَ الْقُرَبِ

I seek nearness to You through both of them for they are the best means of nearness to You.

يَا مَنْ اِلَيْهِ الْمَعْرُوْفُ طُلِبَ

O He from Whom favors are sought

وَ فِيْمَا لَدَيْهِ رُغِبَ

and what He possesses is desired!

اَسْاَلُكَ سُؤَالَ مُقْتَرِفٍ مُذْنِبٍ

I beseech You with the entreaty of him

قَدْ اَوْبَقَتْهُ ذُنُوْبُهُ

whom is enchained by his sins

وَ اَوْثَقَتْهُ عُيُوْبُهُ

and is bound by his defects;

فَطَالَ عَلَى الْخَطَايَا دُءُوْبُهُ

therefore, he devoted himself to offenses,

وَ مِنَ الرَّزَايَا خُطُوْبُهُ

and disasters have attacked him heavily.

يَسْاَلُكَ التَّوْبَةَ

He is now begging You for accepting his repentance,

وَ حُسْنَ الْاَوْبَةِ

good return from You,

وَ النُّزُوْعَ عَنِ الْحَوْبَةِ

redeeming from punishment,

وَ مِنَ النَّارِ فَكَاكَ رَقَبَتِهِ

releasing from Hellfire,

وَ الْعَفْوَ عَمَّا فِي رِبْقَتِهِ

and overlooking the sins that are hanged to him.

فَاَنْتَ مَوْلَايَ اَعْظَمُ اَمَلِهِ وَ ثِقَتِهِ

Certainly, You, O my Master, the greatest of all hopes and desires he has.

اَللّٰهُمَّ وَ اَسْاَلُكَ بِمَسَاۤئِلِكَ الشَّرِيْفَةِ

O Allah, I beg You in the name of the holy means that You admit

وَ وَسَاۤئِلِكَ الْمُنِيْفَةِ

and all of the elevated courses that take to You

اَنْ تَتَغَمَّدَنِي فِي هَذَا الشَّهْرِ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِنْكَ وَاسِعَةٍ

to encompass me, in this month, with vast mercy of You,

وَ نِعْمَةٍ وَازِعَةٍ

abundant favors,

وَ نَفْسٍ بِمَا رَزَقْتَهَا قَانِعَةٍ

and satisfaction with what You have decided for me

اِلٰى نُزُوْلِ الْحَافِرَةِ

until I am put in my final hole,

وَ مَحَلِّ الْآخِرَةِ

which is my abode to the Hereafter

وَ مَا هِيَ اِلَيْهِ صَاۤئِرَةٌ۔

and the Final Fate.
