AAMAL & DUAS FOR THE DAYS OF RAMADHAN
The rites that are advisably practiced on the days of Ramadan are as follows:
First: It is recommended to say the following supplicatory prayer that is mentioned by Shaykh al-Tusi and Sayyid Ibn Tawus:
اَللّٰهُمَّ هٰذَا شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ
O Allah, this is the month of Ramadan
الَّذِيْ اَنْزَلْتَ فِيْهِ الْقُرَاٰنَ
in which You revealed the Qur'an,
هُدَىً لِلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَاتِ مِنَ الْهُدٰى وَالْفْرْقَانِ،
a guidance for humankind and clear proofs of true guidance and distinction (between the right and the wrong).
وَهٰذَا شَهْرُ الصِّيَامِ،
This is the month of observing fasting.
وَهٰذَا شَهْرُ الْقِيَامِ،
This is the month of acts of worship.
وَهٰذَا شَهْرُ الْاِنَابَةِ،
This the month of turning to You (in penitence).
وَهٰذَا شَهْرُ التَّوْبَةِ،
This is the month of repentance.
وَهٰذَا شَهْرُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ وَالرَّحْمَةِ،
This is the month of forgiveness and mercy.
وَهٰذَا شَهْرُ الْعِتْقِ مِنَ النَّارِ وَالْفَوْزِ بِالْجَنَّةِ،
This is the moth of release from Hellfire and winning Paradise.
وَهٰذَا شَهْرٌ فِيْهِ لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ
This is the month in which there is the Destiny Night,
الَّتي هِيَ خَيْرٌ مِنْ اَلْفِ شَهْرٍ،
which is better than one thousand months.
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ واٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ،
O Allah, (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَاَعِنِّي عَلٰى صِيَامِهِ وَقِيَامِهِ،
help me observe fasting and do acts of worship during it,
وَسلِّمْهُ لِي وَسَلِّمْنِيْ فِيْهِ،
keep it upright for me, keep me safe during it,
وَاَعِنِّي عَلَيْهِ بِاَفْضَلِ عَوْنِكَ،
help me observe it with the best of Your help,
وَوَفِّقْنِيْ فِيْهِ لِطَاعَتِكَ وَطَاعَةِ رَسُولِكَ واَوْلِيَآئِكَ
make me succeed in doing acts of obedience to You, to Your Prophet, and Your intimate servants
صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِمْ،
upon whom be Your blessings.
وَفَرِّغْنِي فِيْهِ لِعِبَادَتِكَ وَدُعَاۤئِكَ وَتِلَاوَةِ كِتَابِكَ،
Make me devote myself to acts of worship to You, to praying You, and to reciting Your Book,
وَاَعْظِمْ لِيْ فِيْهِ الْبَرَكَةِ،
increase its blessings for me,
وَاَحْسِنْ لِي فِيْهِ الْعَافِيَةَ،
confer upon me with good health during it,
وَاَصِحَّ فِيْهِ بَدَنِيْ،
make my body healthy during it,
وَاَوْسِعْ لِيْ فِيْهِ رِزْقِيْ،
expand my sustenance during it,
وَاكْفِنِيْ فِيْهِ مَآ اَهَمَّنِيْ
save me from whatever aggrieves me during it,
وَاسْتَجِبْ فِيْهِ دُعَاۤئِي،
respond to my prayers during it,
وَبَلِّغْنِيْ رَجَاۤئِيْ،
and make me attain my hope during it.
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ،
O Allah, (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
واَذْهِبْ عَنِّي فِيْهِ النُّعَاسَ وَالْكَسَلَ وَالسَّامَةَ
remove from me during it drowsiness, lethargy, laziness, weariness,
وَالْفَتْرَةَ وَالْقَسْوَةَ وَالْغَفْلَةَ وَالْغِرَّةَ،
hardheartedness, inattentiveness, and carelessness.
وَجَنِّبْنِيْ فِيْهِ الْعِلَلَ وَالْاَسْقَامَ
Put aside from me during it illnesses, sicknesses,
وَالْهُمُوْمَ وَالْاَحْزَانَ
grievances, sorrows,
وَالْاَعْرَاضَ وَالْاَمْرَاضَ
ailments, diseases,
وَالْخَطَايَا وَالذُّنُوْبَ،
wrongdoings, and sins.
وَاصْرِفْ عَنِّيْ فِيْهِ السُّوْءَ وَالْفَحْشَاۤءَ
Send away from me during it evil, indecency,
وَالْجَهْدَ وَالْبَلَاۤءِ
fatigue, ordeals,
وَالتَّعَبَ وَالْعَنَاۤءَ
tiredness, and suffering.
اِنَّكَ سَمِيْعُ الدُّعَاۤءِ،
Verily, You are the Hearer of prayers.
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ،
O Allah, (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
وَاَعِذْنِيْ فِيْهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيْمِ
and protect me during it from Satan the cursed,
وَهَمْزِهِ وَلَمْزِهِ وَنُفْثِهِ وَنُفْخِهِ
his sting, his slander, his devilry,
وَوَسْوَسَتِهِ وَتَثْبِيْطِهِ وَبَطْشِهِ وَكَيْدِهِ
his evil inspirations, his frustration, his obstinacy, his trickeries,
وَمَكْرِهِ وَحَبَآئِلِهِ وَخُدَعِهِ وَاَمَانِيِّهِ
his deceptions, his traps, his scams, his false hopes,
وَغُرُوْرِهِ وَفِتْنَتِهِ وَشَرَكِهِ وَاَحْزَابِهِ
his vanities, his seductions, his ruses, his allies,
وَاَتْبَاعِهِ واَشْيَاعِهِ وَاَوْلِيَآئِهِ وَشُرَكَآئِهِ
his followers, his fans, his supporters, his partners,
وَجَمِيْعِ مَكَآئِدِهِ،
and all his snares.
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ،
O Allah, (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
وَارْزُقْنَا قِيَامَهُ وَصِيَامَهُ
and bestow upon us with the observance of fasting, acts of worship,
وَبُلُوْغَ الْاَمَلِ فِيْهِ وَفِيْ قِيَامِهِ،
attainment of our hopes during it, by means of doing acts of worship in it,
وَاسْتِكْمَالَ مَا يُرْضِيْكَ عَنِّيْ
accomplishment of that which brings about Your pleasure
صَبْرًا وَاحْتِسَابًا وَاِيْمَانًا وَيَقيْنًا،
by means of steadfastness, acting for Your sake, faith and certitude.
ثُمَّ تَقَبَّلْ ذٰلِكَ مِنِّيْ بِالْاَضْعَافِ الْكَثِيْرَةِ،
Then (please) admit all that from me with manifold rewards
وَالْاَجْرِ الْعَظيْمِ
and great gifts.
يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ،
O Lord of the worlds!
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
O Allah, (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
وَارْزُقْنِي الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ
and grant me (the opportunity to go on) Hajj, 'Umrah,
وَالْجَدَّ وَالْاِجْتِهَادَ
hard work, painstakingness,
وَالْقُوَّةَ وَالنَّشَاطَ
power, activity,
وَالْاِنَابَةَ والتَّوْبَةَ
turning to You, repentance,
وَلِلتَّوْفِيْقِ وَالْقُرْبَةَ
success, seeking Your nearness,
وَالْخَيْرَ الْمَقْبُوْلَ وَالرَّغْبَةَ وَالرَّهْبَةَ
admitted good-doing, desire (for You), fear (from You),
وَالتَّضَرُّعَ وَالْخُشُوْعَ
submission (to You), meekness,
وَالرِّقَّةَ وَالنِّيَّةَ الصَّادِقَهَ،
tenderness, sincere intention,
وَصِدْقَ اللِّسَانِ،
truthfulness,
وَالْوَجَلَ مِنْكَ،
dread from You,
وَالرَّجَاۤءَ لَكَ،
hope for You,
وَالتَّوَكُّلَ عَلَيْكَ،
reliance upon You,
وَالثِّقَةَ بِكَ،
trust in You,
وَالْوَرَعَ عَنْ مَحَارِمِكَ،
and abstention from committing that which You have deemed unlawful,
مَعَ صَالِحِ الْقَوْلِ،
along with decent speaking,
وَمَقْبُوْلِ السَّعْيِ،
admitted efforts,
وَمَرْفُوْعِ الْعَمَلِ،
elevated deeds,
وَمُسْتَجَابِ الدَّعْوَةِ،
and responded prayers.
وَلَا تَحُلْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ شَيْءٍ مِنْ ذٰلِكَ
Do not let anything intervene between me and any of these matters,
بِعَرَضٍ وَلَا مَرَضٍ
such as an accidental event, disease,
وَلَا هَمٍّ وَلَا غَمٍّ
grief, unhappiness,
وَلَا سُقْمٍ وَلَا غَفْلَةٍ وَلَانِسْيَانٍ،
ailment, inadvertence, or oblivion;
بَلْ بِالتَّعَاهُدِ وَالتَّحَفُّظِ لَكَ وَفِيْكَ،
rather, (help me do all that) with observance, carefulness to You and for Your sake,
وَالرِّعَايَةِ لِحَقِّكَ، وَالْوَفَاۤءِ بِعَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ
adherence to that which is incumbent upon nie towards You, and fulfillment of my covenant and promise to You.
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَآ اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ،
(let all that be) in the name of Your mercy, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
O Allah, (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَاقْسِمْ لِي فِيْهِ اَفْضَلَ مَا تَقْسِمُهُ لِعِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِيْنَ،
decide for me during this month the best of that which You decide for Your righteous servants,
وَاَعْطِنِيْ فِيْهِ اَفْضَلَ مَا تُعْطِيْ اَوْلِيَاۤءَكَ الْمُقَرَّبِيْنَ،
and give me during it the most favorable of that which You give to Your intimate and favorite servants;
مِنَ الرَّحْمَةِ وَالْمَغْفِرَةِ وَالتَّحَنُّنِ وَالْاِجَابَةِ
such as mercy, forgiveness, kindness, responding (of prayers),
وَالْعَفْوِ وَالْمَغْفِرَةِ الدَّآئِمَةِ، وَالْعَافِيَةِ وَالْمُعَافَاةِ،
pardon, perpetual forgiveness, good health, continuous wellbeing,
وَالْعِتْقِ مِنَ النَّارِ، وَالْفَوْزِ بِالْجَنَّةِ،
release from Hellfire, winning Paradise,
وَخَيْرِ الدُّنْيَا وَالْاٰخِرَةِ،
and the goodness of this worldly life and the Next World.
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ،
O Allah, (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
وَاجْعَلْ دُعَاۤئِيْ فِيْهِ اِلَيْكَ وَاصِلًا،
and cause my prayers during this month to reach You,
وَرَحْمَتَكَ وَخَيْرَكَ اِلَىَّ فِيْهِ نَازِلًا،
Your mercy and goodness during it to reach me,
وَعَمَلِيْ فِيْهِ مَقْبُوْلًا،
my deed to be accepted (by You),
وَسَعْيِيْ فِيْهِ مَشْكُوْرًا،
my efforts during it to be praiseworthy,
وَذَنْبِيْ فِيْهِ مَغْفُوْرًا،
and my sins during it to be forgiven
حَتّٰى يَكُوْنَ نَصِيْبِيْ فِيْهِ الِاَكْثَرَ،
so that my share (of Your awards) shall be the most abundant,
وَحَظِّيْ فِيْهِ الْاَوْفَرَ،
and my portion the most copious.
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ،
O Allah, (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
وَوَفِّقْنِيْ فِيْهِ لِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ
and guide me to observe the Destiny Night adequately,
عَلٰى اَفْضَلِ حَالٍ تُحِبُّ اَنْ يَكُوْنَ عَلَيْهَا اَحَدٌ مِنْ اَوْلِيَآئِكَ، وَاَرْضَاهَا لَكَ،
being in the most favorable and most pleased state that You would like to notice from any of Your intimate servants.
ثُمَّ اجْعَلْهَا لِيْ خَيْرًا مِنْ اَلْفِ شَهْرٍ،
Then, decide it to be better for me that one thousand months,
وَارْزُقْنِيْ فِيْهَا اَفْضَلَ مَا رَزَقْتَ اَحَدًا مِمَّنْ بَلَّغْتَهُ اِيَّاهَا وَاَكْرَمْتَهُ بِهَا،
confer upon me during this night the best conferrals that You ever confer upon any one whom You guide to attain it and whom You honor during it,
وَاجْعَلْنِيْ فِيْهَا مِنْ عُتَقَآئِكَ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ،
include me at this night it with those whom You release from Hell
وطُلَقَآئِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ،
whom You manumit from Hellfire
وَسُعَدَاۤءِ خَلْقِكَ بِمَغْفِرَتِكَ وَرِضْوَانِكَ
and with those of Your creatures who are happy due to Your forgiveness and satisfaction (that reach them).
يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ،
O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ،
O Allah, (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
وَارْزُقْنَا فِيْ شَهْرِنَا هٰذَا الْجِدَّ وَالْاِجْتِهَادَ،
and grant us during this month hard working, exactness,
وَالْقُوَّةَ وَالنَّشَاطَ،
power, activeness,
وَمَا تُحِبُّ وَتَرْضٰى،
and whatever You like and please.
اَللّٰهُمَّ رَبَّ الْفَجْرِ وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ، وَالشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ،
O Allah, the Lord of the Dawn, the Ten Nights, the Even and the Odd,
وَرَبَّ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ، وَمَا اَنْزَلْتَ فِيْهِ مِنَ الْقُرْاٰنِ،
the Lord of the month of Ramadan and the Qur'an that You have revealed during it,
وَرَبَّ جَبْرَئِيْلَ وَمِيْكَاۤئِيْلَ واِسْرَافِيْلَ وَعِزْرَاۤئِيْلَ
the Lord of (Archangels) Gabriel, Michael, Seraph, and 'Izra’il,
وَجَمِيْعِ الْمَلَآئِكَةِ الْمُقَرَّبِيْنَ،
as well as all the Favorite Angels,
وَرَبَّ اِبْرَاهِيْمَ وَاِسْمَاعِيْلَ
the Lord of (Prophets) Abraham, Ishmael,
وَاِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوْبَ،
Isaac, and Jacob,
وَرَبَّ مُوسٰى وَعِيْسٰی
the Lord of Moses and Jesus,
وَجَمِيْعِ النَّبِيِّيْنَ وَالْمُرْسَلِيْنَ،
as well as all the Prophets and Messengers,
وَرَبَّ مُحَمَّدٍ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّيْنَ
and the Lord of Muhammad, the seal of the Prophets,
صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَ،
may Your blessings be upon him and upon them all.
وَاَسْاَلُكَ بِحَقِّكَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَبِحَقِّهِمْ عَلَيْكَ،
I beseech You in the name of their duty towards You Your duty towards them,
وَبِحَقِّكَ الْعَظِيْمِ لَمَّا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهِ وَعَلَيْهِمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَ،
and in the name of the great duty towards You to bless him and his Household and all of them,
وَنَظَرْتَ اِلَيَّ نَظْرَةً رَحِيْمَةً
to take a merciful look at me
تَرْضٰى بِهَا عَنِّي رِضىً لَا سَخَطَ عَلَيَّ بَعْدَهُ اَبَدًا،
due to which You be pleased with me so perfectly that You never be irate with me after that,
وَاَعْطَيْتَنِيْ جَمِيْعَ سُؤْلِيْ وَرَغْبَتِيْ وَاُمْنِيَّتِيْ وَاِرَادَتِيْ،
to grant me all my requests, desires, hopes, and needs,
وَصَرَفْتَ عَنِّي مَا اَكْرَهُ وَاَحْذَرُ
to ward off all that which I despise and try to avoid
وَاَخَافُ عَلٰى نَفْسِيْ وَمَا لَا اَخَافُ،
and all that which I fear for myself and all that which I do not fear,
وَعَنْ اَهْلِيْ وَمَالِيْ وَاِخْوَانِيْ وَذُرِّيَّتِيْ،
and to do the same to my family members, my property, my brethren and my offspring.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِلَيْكَ فَرَرْنَا مِنْ ذُنُوْبِنَا فَـاٰوِنَا تَآئِبِيْنَ
O Allah, to You are we running from our sins; so (please do) shelter us as we are repentant,
وَتُبْ عَلَيْنَا مُسْتَغْفِرِيْنَ،
accept our repentance as we are seeking Your forgiveness,
وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا مُتَعَوِّذِيْنَ،
forgive us as we are seeking Your protection,
وَاَعِذْنَا مُسْتَجِيْرِيْنَ،
protect us as we are seeking Your aid,
وَاَجِرْنَا مُسْتَسْلِمِيْنَ،
aid us as we are surrendering to You,
وَلَا تَخْذُلْنَا رَاهِبِيْنَ،
never disappoint us as we are fearful of You,
واٰمِنَّا رَاغِبِيْنَ،
secure us as we are desiring for You,
وَشَفِّعْنَا سَاۤئِلِيْنَ،
accept our intercession as we are begging You,
وَاَعْطِنَا اِنَّكَ سَمِيْعُ الدُّعَاۤءِ قَرِيْبٌ مُجِيْبٌ،
and grant us (what we hope) as You are verily the Hearer of prayers, the Nigh, and the Responding.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَنْتَ رَبِّيْ وَاَنَا عَبْدُكَ
O Allah, You are my Lord and I am Your servant,
وَاَحَقُّ مَنْ سَاَلَ الْعَبْدُ رَبَّهُ
and it is conventional that a servant begs from his Lord.
وَلَمْ يَسْاَلِ الْعِبَادُ مِثْلَكَ كَرَمًا وَجُوْدًا،
All Your servants have never begged any one who is as generous and magnanimous as You are.
يَا مَوْضِعَ شَكْوٰيَ السَّاۤئِلِيْنَ،
O center of the complaints of the beseechers!
وَيَا مُنْتَهٰى حَاجَةِ الرَّاغِبِيْنَ،
O ultimate goal of the needs of the desirers!
وَيَا غِيَاثَ الْمُسْتَغِيْثِيْنَ،
O Aide of the seekers of aid!
وَيَا مُجِيْبَ دَعْوَةِ الْمُضْطَرِّيْنَ،
O Responding to the prayers of the distressed ones!
وَيَا مَلْجَاَ الْهَارِبِيْنَ،
O Shelter of the fugitives!
وَيَا صَرِيْخَ الْمُسْتَصْرِخِيْنَ،
O Helper of the seekers of help!
وَيَا رَبَّ الْمُسْتَضْعَفِيْنَ،
O Cherisher of the enfeebled ones!
وَيَا كَاشِفَ كَرْبِ الْمَكْرُوْبِيْنَ،
O Reliever of the grievances of the aggrieved ones!
وَيَا فَارِجَ هَمِّ الْمَهْمُوْمِيْنَ،
O Releaser of the agonies of the distressed ones!
وَيَا كَاشِفَ الْكَرْبِ الْعَظِيْمِ
O Reliever of the enormous calamities!
يَا اَللهُ يَا رَحْمٰنُ يَا رَحِيْمُ
O Allah! O All-beneficent! O All-merciful!
يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!
صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ،
(Please) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَاغْفِرْ لِيْ ذُنُوْبِيْ وَعُيُوْبِيْ
forgive my sins, my defects,
وَاِسَاۤءَتِيْ وَظُلْمِيْ وَجُرْمِيْ
my offenses, my wrongdoing, my felonies,
وَاِسْرَافِيْ عَلٰى نَفْسِيْ،
and my extravagance in my affairs,
وَارْزُقْنِيْ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ
grant me out of Your favors and mercy,
فَاِنَّهُ لَا يَمْلِكُهَا غَيْرُكَ،
for none possesses these two save You,
وَاغْفِرْ لِيْ كُلَّ مَا سَلَفَ مِنْ ذُنُوْبِيْ،
forgive all my past sins,
وَاعْصِمْنِيْ فِيْـمَا بَقِيَ مِنْ عُمْرِيْ،
save me from sinning in the rest of my lifetime,
وَاسْتُرْ عَلَيَّ وَعَلٰى وَالِدَيَّ
cover me as well as my parents,
وَوَلَدِيْ وَقَرَابَتِيْ وَاَهْلِ حُزَانَتِيْ
my children, my relatives, my friends,
وَمَنْ كَانَ مِنِّي بِسَبِيْلِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ فِيْ الدُّنْيَا وَالْاٰخِرَةِ
and all those who relate to me from the believing men and women in this worldly life and the life to come.
فَاِنَّ ذٰلِكَ كُلَّهُ بِيَدِكَ
Verily, all that is managed by You alone
وَاَنْتَ وَاسِعُ الْمَغْفِرَةِ،
and You are verily the Liberal in forgiving.
فَلَا تُخَيِّبْنِيْ يَا سَيِّدِيْ،
So, my Master, do not disappoint me,
وَلَا تَرُدَّ دُعَاۤئِيْ وَلَا يَدِيْ اِلٰى نَحْرِيْ
do not reject my prayer, and do not let me down;
حَتّٰى تَفْعَلَ ذٰلِكَ بِيْ، وَتَسْتَجِيْبَ لِيْ جَمِيْعَ مَا سَاَلْتُكَ،
rather, (please) do all that to me, respond to me in all that which I have asked from You,
وَتَزِيْدَنِيْ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ
and increase Your favor upon me,
فَاِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ،
because You verily have power over all things
وَنَحْنُ اِلَيْكَ رَاغِبُوْنَ،
and for You do we desire.
اَللّٰهُمَّ لَكَ الْاَسْمَاۤءُ الْحُسْنٰى،
O Allah, Yours are the Most Excellent Names,
وَالْاَمْثَالُ الْعُلْيَا،
the Most Elevated Examples,
وَالْكِبْرِيَاۤءُ وَالْاٰلَاۤءُ،
every greatness, and all bounties.
اَسْاَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ
I thus beseech You by Your Name:
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰـنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
اِنْ كُنْتَ قَضَيْتَ فِيْ هٰذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ
If you have decided at this night,
تَنَزُّلَ الْمَلَآئِكَةِ وَالرُّوْحِ فِيْهَا
during which the angels and the Holy Spirit are allowed to descend,
اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ،
to bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَاَنْ تَجْعَلَ اسْمِيْ فِيْ السُّعَدَاۤءِ،
add my name to the (list of the) happy ones,
وَرُوْحِيْ مَعَ الشُّهَدَاۤءِ،
add my soul to the martyrs,
وَاِحْسَانِيْ فِيْ عِلِّيِّيْنَ،
elevate my good doings exaltedly,
وَاِسَاۤءَتِيْ مَغْفُوْرَةً
decide my ill deeds to be forgiven,
وَاَنْ تَهَبَ لِيْ يَقِيْنًا تُبَاشِرُ بِهِ قَلْبِيْ،
grant me conviction with which You fill in my heart,
وَاِيْمَانًا لَا يَشُوْبُهُ شَكٌّ،
faith free of doubt,
وَرِضىً بِمَا قَسَمْتَ لِيْ،
satisfaction with that which You decide for me,
وَاٰتِنِيْ فِيْ الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِى الآخِرَۃِ حَسَنَةً
grant me good in this worldly life and good in the Next World,
وَقِنىٰ عَذَابَ النَّارِ،
and save me from the Fire of Hell.
وَاِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ قَضَيْتَ فِيْ هٰذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ
And if You have not decided at this night,
تَنَزُّلَ الْمَلَآئِكَةِ وَالرُّوْحِ فِيْهَا
during which the angels and the Holy Spirit are allowed to descend,
فَاَخِّرْنِيْ اِلٰى ذٰلِكَ،
then (please) postpone Your decisions about me to that night,
وَارْزُقْنِيْ فِيْهَا ذِكْرَكَ وَشُكْرَكَ
confer upon me during it with remembering You, showing gratitude to You,
وَطَاعَتَكَ وَحُسْنَ عِبَادَتِكَ
doing acts of obedience to You, and worshipping You in the best manner.
وصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
And (please) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
بِاَفْضَلِ صَلَوَاتِكَ يَآ اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِميْنَ
with Your most favorable blessings, O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!
يَا اَحَدُ يَا صَمَدُ،
O One and Only! the Besought of all!
يَا رَبَّ مُحَمَّدٍ،
O Lord of Muhammad!
اغْضَبِ الْيَوْمَ لِمُحَمَّدٍ وَلِاَبْرَارِ عِتْرَتِهِ
(please) revenge on this day for Muhammad and for the pious ones from his offspring,
وَاقْتُلْ اَعْدَاۤءَهُمْ بَدَدًا،
eradicate all of their enemies,
وَاَحْصِهِمْ عَدَدًا،
put them all under Your reprimand,
وَلَا تَدَعْ عَلٰى ظَهْرِ الْاَرْضِ مِنْهُمْ اَحَدًا،
do not leave anyone of them to live on this earth,
وَلَا تَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ اَبَدًا،
and never forgive them.
يَا حَسَنَ الصُّحْبَةِ
O most excellent Companion!
يَا خَلِيْفَةَ النَّبِيِّيْنَ
O Heir of the Prophets!
اَنْتَ اَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
You are verily the most Merciful of all those who show mercy,
الْبَدِيءُ الْبَدِيْعُ
the Commencer, the brilliant Maker,
الَّذِيْ لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِكَ شَيْءٌ،
there is none like You,
وَالدَّآئِمُ غَيْرُ الْغَافِلِ،
You are the Eternal Who never omits anything,
وَالْحَيُّ الَّذِيْ لَا يَمُوْتُ،
are the Ever-living Who never dies, on each day,
اَنْتَ كُلِّ يَوْمٍ فِيْ شَاْنٍ،
You have a certain state.
اَنْتَ خَلِيْفَةُ مُحَمَّدٍ،
You are the Heir of Muhammad,
وَنَاصِرُ مُحَمَّدٍ،
the Supporter of Muhammad,
وَمُفَضِّلُ مُحَمَّدٍ،
and the Selector of Muhammad.
اَسْاَلُكَ اَنْ تَنْصُرَ وَصِيَّ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَخَلِيْفَةَ مُحَمَّدٍ،
I beseech You to give victory to the successor and representative of Muhammad,
وَالْقَآئِمَ بِالْقِسْطِ مِنْ اَوْصِيَاۤءِمُحَمَّدٍ
the Imam who shall appear with justice among the successors of Muhammad,
صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِمْ،
may Your blessings be upon him and upon them.
اِعْطِفْ عَلَيْهِمْ نَصْرَكَ
(Please)turn Your victory toward them.
يَا لَا اِلـٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ،
O He but Whom there is no god!
بِحَقِّ لَآ اِلـٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ،
I beseech You in the name of that there is no god but You,
صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ،
(please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَاجْعَلْنِيْ مَعَهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْاٰخِرَةِ،
allow me to join them in this worldly life as well as the Next World
وَاجْعَلْ عَاقِبَةَ اَمْرِيْ اِلٰى غُفْرَانِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ
and allow all my affairs to end up with Your forgiveness and mercy.
يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ،
O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!
وَكَذٰلِكَ نَسَبْتَ نَفْسَكَ يَا سَيِّدِيْ بِاللَّطِيْفِ،
O my Master, You have ascribed the feature of kindness to Yourself.
بَلٰى اِنَّكَ لَطِيْفٌ،
Yes, indeed! You are truly kind.
فَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
So,(please) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad
وَالْطُفْ لِمَا تَشَاۤءُ،
and treat me kindly as You like.
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ،
O Allah, (please) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَارْزُقْنِى الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ فِيْ عَامِنَا هٰذَا،
grant me (the opportunity to go on) Hajj and 'Umrah in this year,
وَتَطَوَّلْ عَلَيَّ بِجَمِيْعِ حَوَآئِجِيْ لِلْآخِرَةِ وَالدُّنْيَا
confer upon me with the favor of settling all my needs for the Next World and this worldly life.
Then repeat the following imploration three times:
اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ رَبِّي وَاَتُوْبُ اِلَيْهِ
I implore for the forgiveness of Allah, my Lord, and I repent before Him.
اِنَّ رَبِّي قَرِيْبٌ مُجِيْبٌ،
Surely, my Lord is Nigh and Responding.
اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ رَبِّي وَاَتُوْبُ اِلَيْهِ
I implore for Allah’s forgiveness, my Lord, and I repent before Him,
اِنَّ رَبِّيْ رَحِيْمٌ وَدُوْدٌ،
Surely, my Lord is Merciful, Loving.
اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ رَبِّي وَاَتُوْبُ اِلَيْهِ
I implore for Allah’s forgiveness, my Lord, and I repent before Him.
اِنَّهُ كَانَ غَفَّارًا
He is surely All-forgiving.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ
O Allah, (please do) forgive me.
اِنَّكَ اَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ،
You are verily the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.
رَبِّ اِنّي عَمِلْتُ سُوٓءًا وَظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِيْ
O my Lord, I have committed ill deeds and wronged myself.
فَاغْفِرْ لِيْ اِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوْبَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ،
So (please) forgive me, because none can forgive sins save You.
اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ الَّذِيْ لَا اِلـٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ
I implore for Allah’s forgiveness save Whom there is no god,
الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّوْمُ الْحَلِيْمُ الْعَظِيْمُ
the Ever-living, the Self-Subsistent, the Indulgent, the Allgreat,
الْكَرِيْمُ الْغَفَّارُ للِذَّنْبِ الْعَظِيْمِ
the Noble, the forgiver of fatal sins,
وَاَتُوْبُ اِلَيْهِ،
and I repent before Him.
اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ
I implore for Allah’s forgiveness.
اِنَّ اللهَ كَانَ غَفُورًا رَحِيْمًا
Allah is verily Forgiver, Merciful.
Then, keep on saying the following:
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّيْ اَسْاَلُكَ اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ،
O Allah, I beseech You to send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَاَنْ تَجْعَلَ فِيْـمَا تَقْضِيْ وَتُقَدِّرُ
to decide within the decisions that You make,
مِنَ الْاَمْرِ الْعَظِيْمِ الْمَحْتُومِ فِيْ لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ
from the great, inevitable affair at the Destiny Night,
مِنَ الْقَضَاۤءِ الَّذِيْ لَا يُرَدُّ وَلَا يُبَدَّلُ،
within the decision that is neither rejected nor altered,
اَنْ تَكْتُبَنِيْ مِنْ حُجَّاجِ بَيْتِكَ الْحَرَامِ،
to write my name with the pilgrims of Your Holy House,
الْمَبْرُوْرِ حَجُّهُمْ،
whose Hajj is admitted,
الْمَشْكُوْرِ سَعْيُهُمْ،
whose efforts are praiseworthy,
الْمَغْفُوْرِ ذُنُوْبُهُمُ،
whose sins are forgiven,
الْمُكَفَّرِ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُهُمْ،
and whose offenses are pardoned,
وَاَنْ تَجْعَلَ فِيْـمَا تَقْضِيْ وَتُقَدِّرُ اَنْ تُطِيْلَ عُمْرِيْ
to decide among the decisions that You make to grant me long lifetime,
وَتُوَسِّعَ رِزْقِيْ،
expand my sustenance,
وَتُؤَدِّيْ عَنِّيْ اَمَانَتِيْ وَدَيْنِيْ،
help me fulfill my trusts and settle my debts,
اٰمِيْنَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ،
and respond to me, O Lord of the worlds.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْ لِيْ مِنْ اَمْرِيْ فَرَجًا وَمَخْرَجًا،
O Allah, (please do) make for me relief and an outlet,
وَارْزُقْنِيْ مِنْ حَيْثُ اَحْتَسِبُ وَمِنْ حَيْثُ لَا اَحْتَسِبُ،
provide for me from whence I expect and from whence I do not expect,
وَاحْرُسْنِيْ مِنْ حَيْثُ اَحْتَرِسُ وَمِنْ حَيْثُ لَا اَحْتَرِسُ
guard me from when I take precautions and from whence I do not take precautions,
وَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَاٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَسَلِّمْ كَثيرًا۔
and send plentiful blessings and benedictions to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad.
