For the last day of Ramadan, Sayyid Ibn Tawus has mentioned a supplicatory prayer that begins with:
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّكَ اَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ۔
O Allah, verily You are the most Merciful of all those who show mercy ….
In most cases, the recitation of the Holy Qur’an is accomplished on the thirtieth of Ramadan; therefore, it is highly advisable to read the supplicatory prayer No. 42 of al-Sahifah al-Kamilah al-Sajjadiyyah.
It is also optional to say the following brief supplicatory prayer that is reported by Shaykh al-Tusi from Imam AliAmeer al-Momineen(a.s.):
اَللّٰهُمَّ اشْرَحْ بِالْقُرْاٰنِ صَدْرِيْ،
O Allah, (please) expand my breast through the Qur'an,
وَاسْتَعْمِلْ بِالْقُرْاٰنِ بَدَنِيْ،
use my body for the Qur'an,
وَنَوِّرَ بِالْقُرْاٰنِ بَصَرِيْ،
enlighten my sight by the Qur'an,
وَاطْلِقْ بِالْقُرْاٰنِ لِسَانِي،
make my tongue eloquent by the Qur'an,
وَاَعِنِّي عَلَيْهِ مَا اَبْقَيْتَنِيْ
and help me carry out its duty as long as You keep me alive,
فَاِنَّهُ لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِكَ۔
for there is neither power nor might save with You.
It is recommended, too, to say the following supplicatory prayer that is reported from Imam AliAmeer al-Momineen(a.s.):
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّي اَسْاَلُكَ اِخْبَاتَ الْمُخْبِتِيْنَ،
O Allah, I beseech You for the humbleness of those who humble themselves before You,
وَاِخْلَاصَ الْمُوْقِنِيْنَ،
for the sincerity of those possessing certainty,
وَمُرَافَقَةَ الْاَبْرَارِ،
for the companionship of the pious ones,
وَاسْتِحْقَاقَ حَقَاۤئِقِ الْاِيْمَانِ،
for the worthiness of the truths of faith,
وَالْغَنِيْمَةَ مِنْ كُلِّ بِرٍّ،
for gaining a share of all pious deeds,
وَالسَّلَامَةَ مِنْ كُلِّ اِثْمٍ،
for safety from all sins,
وَوُجُوْبَ رَحْمَتِكَ،
for the merit of Your mercy,
وَعَزَآئِمَ مَغْفِرَتِكَ،
for the qualifications of winning Your forgiveness,
وَالْفَوْزَ بِالْجَنَّةِ،
for winning Paradise,
وَالنَّجَاةَ مِنَ النَّارِ۔
and for salvation from Hellfire.
