NAMAZ OF IMAM KAZIM (A) TO WARD OF EVIL

Eighteenth: This is Imam Musa ibn Ja’far al-Kazim’s evil-averting prayer:

تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى الْحَىِّ الَّذِىْ لَايَمُوْتُ

I put my trust in the ever-living Lord Who never dies.

وَتَحَصَّنْتُ بِذِى الْعِزَّةِ وَالْجَبَرُوْتِ

I pray the immunity of the Lord of almightiness and omnipotence.

وَاسْتَعَنْتُ بِذِى الْكِبْرِيَاۤءِ وَالْمَلَكُوْتِ

I pray the aid of the Lord of grandeur and kingdom.

مَوْلَاىَ اسْتَسْلَمْتُ اِلَيْكَ فَلَا تُسْلِمْنِىْ

O my Master, I surrender to You; so, (please) do not disappoint me,

وَ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَيْكَ فَلَا تَخْذُلْنِىْ

I put my trust in You; so, (please) do not thwart me,

وَ لَجَاْتُ اِلٰى ظِلِّكَ الْبَسِيْطِ فَلَا تَطْرَحْنِىْ

and to Your extensive shadow do I resort; so, (please) do not throw me away.

اَنْتَ الْمَطْلَبُ وَ اِلَيْكَ الْمَهْرَبُ

You are the utmost purpose and to You are all flights made.

تَعْلَمُ مَاۤ اُخْفِىْ وَ مَاۤ اُعْلِنُ

You know whatever I hide and whatever I do openly.

وَ تَعْلَمُ خَاۤئِنَةَ الْاَعْيُنِ وَ مَا تُخْفِى الصُّدُوْرُ

You know the stealthy looks of eyes and what is concealed in breasts.

فَاَمْسِكْ عَنِّى اللّٰهُمَّ اَيْدِى الظَّالِمِيْنَ

So, O Allah, (please) withhold the hands of the transgressors against me,

مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْاِنْسِ اَجْمَعِيْنَ

including all jinn and all human beings,

وَاشْفِنِىْ وَ عَافِنِىْ

heal me, and grant me wellbeing,

يَاۤ اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ۔

O most merciful of all those who show mercy!
