English

Twelfth: Shaykh al-Tusi, Sayyid Ibn Tawus, and others have mentioned the following supplicatory prayer confirming that it is recommended to say it at Friday nights just before dawn (fajr):

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِهِ

O Allah, send blessings to Muhammad and his Household,

وَ هَبْ لِيَ الْغَدَاةَ رِضَاكَ

grant me Your satisfaction this very early morning,

وَ اَسْكِنْ قَلْبِيْ خَوْفَكَ

place fear of You in my heart,

وَ اقْطَعْهُ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ

and separate it from (leaning to) anyone other than You,

حَتّٰى لَاۤ اَرْجُوْ وَ لَاۤ اَخَافَ اِلَّاۤ اِيَّاكَ

so that I will hope for and fear none save You.

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِهِ

O Allah, send blessings to Muhammad and his Household

وَ هَبْ لِيْ ثَبَاتَ الْيَقِيْنِ

and grant me resolute faith,

وَ مَحْضَ الْاِخْلَاصِ

pure sincerity (to You),

وَ شَرَفَ التَّوْحِيْدِ

honorable belief in (Your) oneness,

وَ دَوَامَ الْاِسْتِقَامَةِ

persistent straightness,

وَ مَعْدِنَ الصَّبْرِ

essential tolerance,

وَ الرِّضَا بِالْقَضَاۤءِ وَ الْقَدَرِ

and satisfaction with (Your) predetermination and decrees.

يَا قَاضِيَ حَوَاۤئِجِ السَّاۤئِلِيْنَ

O He Who settles the needs of His beseechers;

يَا مَنْ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِيْ ضَمِيْرِ الصَّامِتِيْنَ

O He Who knows what is in the innermost of the silent;

صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ اٰلِهِ،

send blessings to Muhammad and his Household,

وَ اسْتَجِبْ دُعَاۤئِي

respond to my prayers,

وَ اغْفِرْ ذَنْبِيْ

forgive my sins,

وَ اَوْسِعْ رِزْقِيْ

expand my means of livelihood,

وَ اقْضِ حَوَاۤئِجِيْ فِي نَفْسِيْ

and settle the needs of myself

وَ اِخْوَانِيْ فِيْ دِيْنِيْ وَ اَهْلِيْ

and my brethren-in-faith and my family members.

اِلٰهِيْ طُمُوْحُ الْاٰمَالِ قَدْ خَابَتْ اِلَّا لَدَيْكَ

O Allah, all ambitions of expectations are disappointed except those addressed to You,

وَ مَعَاكِفُ الْهِمَمِ قَدْ تَعَطَّلَتْ اِلَّا عَلَيْكَ

all resolute determinations are paralyzed except those relied upon You,

وَ مَذَاهِبُ الْعُقُوْلِ قَدْ سَمَتْ اِلَّاۤ اِلَيْكَ

and all reason-based tendencies are wasted except those directed to You.

فَاَنْتَ الرَّجَاۤءُ وَ اِلَيْكَ الْمُلْتَجَاُ

So, You are the ultimate hope and to You is the resort.

يَاۤ اَكْرَمَ مَقْصُوْدٍ وَ اَجْوَدَ مَسْئُوْلٍ

He Who is the noblest objective and the most magnanimous desired,

هَرَبْتُ اِلَيْكَ بِنَفْسِيْ

i am fleeing to You from myself.

يَا مَلْجَاَ الْهَارِبِيْنَ، بِاَثْقَالِ الذُّنُوْبِ

O shelter of those who flee overburdened with the heavy loads of sins,

اَحْمِلُهَا عَلٰى ظَهْرِيْ

carrying my sins on my back,

لَاۤ اَجِدُ لِيْ اِلَيْكَ شَافِعًا

I cannot find any interceder for me

سِوٰى مَعْرِفَتِيْ بِاَنَّكَ اَقْرَبُ مَنْ رَجَاهُ الطَّالِبُوْنَ

except that I know for sure that You are the nearest of all those who are hoped by beseechers

وَ اَمَّلَ مَا لَدَيْهِ الرَّاغِبُوْنَ

and of all those whose donations are expected by the desirous.

يَا مَنْ فَتَقَ الْعُقُوْلَ بِمَعْرِفَتِهِ

O He Who has split the intellects on the recognition of Him,

وَ اَطْلَقَ الْاَلْسُنَ بِحَمْدِهِ

made tongues articulate with the praising of Him

وَ جَعَلَ مَا امْتَنَّ بِهِ عَلٰى عِبَادِهِ فِي كِفَاۤءٍ لِتَأْدِيَةِ حَقِّهِ [اَنَالَ بِهِ حَقَّهُ‏]

and made that which He has conferred upon His servants enough means for the fulfillment of their duties towards Him;

صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِهِ

(please) send blessings to Muhammad and his Household,

وَ لَا تَجْعَلْ لِّلشَّيْطَانِ عَلٰى عَقْلِيْ سَبِيْلًا

do not give Satan any way (of success) over my reason,

وَ لَا لِلْبَاطِلِ عَلٰى عَمَلِيْ دَلِيْلًا۔

and do not give wrongness a way to reach my deeds.
