TAQIBAAT E NAMAZ E MAGHRIB
As quoted from Misbah al-Mutahajjid
After accomplishment of Tasbih al-Zahra’, it is recommended to say the following invocation of blessings:
“Surely, Allah and His angels bless the Prophet.
O you who believe! Call for Divine blessings on him and salute him with a becoming salutation.”
O Allah, send blessings to Muhammad the Prophet,
upon his offspring,
and upon his Household.
Then, repeat the following litany seven times:
In the Name of Allah; the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
There is neither might nor power save with Allah, the All-high, the All-great.
Then, repeat the following doxology (zikr) (zikr) three times:
All praise be to Allah Who does whatever He desires,
and none else can ever do whatever one desires save Him.
Then, say the following supplicatory prayer:
All glory be to You. There is no god save You.
Forgive my sins all in all,
for none can forgive all sins save You.
You may then offer the Sunset supererogatory (mustahab / nafilah) prayer, which consists of four units of prayer, each two separated by a Taslim statement. You should not utter any word between the two parts of the prayer.
According to the Shaykh, it has been narrated that Surah al-Kafirun (No. 109) should be recited in the first unit and Surah al-Tawheed in the second. In the third and fourth units, it is optional to recite any other Surah desired.
It has been also narrated that Imam Ali al-Naqi (al-Hadi) (a.s.) used to recite, in the third unit (Rak’ah) of this prayer, Surah al-Faatehah and the first six verses (Ayahs) of Surah al-Hadid, and in the fourth unit, Surah al-Faatehah and the last four verses of Surah al-Hashr.
It is also recommended to repeat the following supplicatory prayer seven times in the last prostration (sajdah) of all supererogatory (mustahab / nafilah) prayers each night, especially at Friday nights (i.e. the night before Friday):
O Allah, I surely beseech You in the name of Your Honorable Face,
Your Tremendous Name,
and Your Timeless Kingdom,
to send blessings to Muhammad and his Household
and to forgive my enormous sin;
for none can forgive the enormous save the All-tremendous (Lord).
When you accomplish the supererogatory (mustahab / nafilah) prayer, you may utter any supplication you like.
You may then repeat the following litany ten times:
Only that which Allah wills shall come to pass!
There is no strength save with Allah.
I pray the forgivenes of Allah.
You may then add the following:
O Allah! I beseech You for the motives of Your mercy,
the determining causes of Your forgiveness,
deliverance from Hellfire
and all misfortunes,
winning Paradise,
Divine Contentment in the Abode of Peace,
and the vicinity of Your Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him and his Household.
O Allah, You are certainly the source of each and every favor that covers us.
There is no god save You.
I pray Your forgiveness and I repent before You.
