English
You may then come down to the holy vault and visit Imam alMahdi (‘a) with the forumula of ziyarah that is reported from him according to the report of the sublime Shaykh Ahmad ibn AbiTalib alTabrisi in his book of alIhtijaj, as follows:
The following document was issued from the Sacred Side after replying to some questions:
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the Name of Allah; the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
لَا لِاَمْرِهِ تَعْقِلُوْنَ
You neither understand His decree
وَ لَا مِنْ اَوْلِيَاۤئِهِ تَقْبَلُوْنَ
nor accept from His Vicegerents.
حِكْمَةٌ بَالِغَةٌ فَمَا تُغْنِيْ النُّذُرُ
(This is) consummate wisdom; but warnings do not avail
عَنْ قَوْمٍ لَایُؤْمِنُونَ،
people who do not believe.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَ عَلٰى عِبَادِ اللّٰهِ الصَّالِحِيْنَ
Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah.
When you intend to turn your faces towards Allah and towards us by means of us, you should say just as Allah the All-exalted has said:
سَلَامٌ عَلٰىۤ اٰلِ يٰسٓ,
Peace be upon the Household of Yasin.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا دَاعِيَ اللّٰهِ وَ رَبَّانِيَّ اٰيَاتِهِ،
Peace be upon you, O caller to Allah and interpreter of His Verses.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بَابَ اللّٰهِ وَ دَيَّانَ دِيْنِهِ،
Peace be upon you, O door to Allah and applier of His religion.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خَلِيْفَةَ اللّٰهِ وَ نَاصِرَ حَقِّهِ،
Peace be upon you, O viceroy of Allah and backer of His right.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حُجَّةَ اللّٰهِ وَ دَلِيْلَ اِرَادَتِهِ،
Peace be upon you, O Argument of Allah and sign of His volition.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا تَالِيَ كِتَابِ اللّٰهِ وَ تَرْجُمَانَهُ،
Peace be upon you, O reciter of the Book of Allah and its interpreter.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ فِيۤ اٰنَاۤءِ لَيْلِكَ وَ اَطْرَافِ نَهَارِكَ،
Peace be upon you at the hours of Your night and the two ends of Your day.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بَقِيَّةَ اللّٰهِ فِيْ اَرْضِهِ،
Peace be upon you, O herald of Allah on His lands.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مِيْثَاقَ اللّٰهِ، الَّذِيْ اَخَذَهُ وَ وَكَّدَهُ.
Peace be upon you, O covenant of Allah that He has made and confirmed.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَعْدَ اللّٰهِ، الَّذِيْ ضَمِنَهُ.
Peace be upon you, O Promise of Allah that He has assured.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا الْعَلَمُ الْمَنْصُوْبُ،
Peace be upon you, O appointed pennon,
وَ الْعِلْمُ الْمَصْبُوْبُ،
poured knowledge,
وَ الْغَوْثُ وَ الرَّحْمَةُ الْوَاسِعَةُ
aid, and expansive mercy.
وَعْدًا غَيْرَ مَكْذُوْبٍ.
This is verily a promise that shall never be belied.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ حِيْنَ تَقُوْمُ.
Peace be upon you whenever you rise (to undertake the mission).
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ حِيْنَ تَقْعُدُ.
Peace be upon you whenever you sit.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ حِيْنَ تَقْرَاُ وَ تُبَيِّنُ.
Peace be upon you whenever you recite and elucidate.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ حِيْنَ تُصَلِّيْ وَ تَقْنُتُ.
Peace be upon you whenever you offer prayer and supplicate.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ حِيْنَ تَرْكَعُ وَ تَسْجُدُ.
Peace be upon you whenever you genuflect and prostrate (yourself for Allah).
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ حِيْنَ تُهَلِّلُ وَ تُكَبِّرُ.
Peace be upon you whenever you profess Allah’s Godhead and profess His All-greatness.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ حِيْنَ تَحْمَدُ وَ تَسْتَغْفِرُ.
Peace be upon you whenever you praise Allah and implore for His forgiveness.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ حِيْنَ تُصْبِحُ وَ تُمْسِيۤ.
Peace be upon you whenever you begin and end your day.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ فِي اللَّيْلِ اِذَا يَغْشٰى،
Peace be upon you in the night when it draws a veil
وَ النَّهَارِ اِذَا تَجَلّٰىۤ.
and the day when it shines in brightness.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا الْاِمَامُ الْمَأْمُوْنُ.
Peace be upon you, O entrusted leader.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا الْمُقَدَّمُ الْمَأْمُوْلُ
Peace be upon you, O favored and expected.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ بِجَوَامِعِ السَّلَامِ.
Peace be upon you to the ultimate meaning of peace.
اُشْهِدُكَ يَا مَوْلَايَ،
I solicit you, O my master,
اَنِّيۤ اَشْهَدُ اَنْ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللّٰهُ،
to testify to me that I bear witness that there is no god but Allah؛
وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ،
One and Only Lord and having no associate,
وَ اَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَ رَسُوْلُهُ،
and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.
لَا حَبِيْبَ اِلَّا هُوَ وَ اَهْلُهُ،
There is no one more beloved by Allah than him and his household.
وَ اُشْهِدُكَ يَا مَوْلَايَ،
And I solicit you, O my master, to testify to me that I bear witness
اَنَّ عَلِيًّا اَمِيْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ حُجَّتُهُ،
that 'Ali the Commander of the Faithful is His argument,
وَ الْحَسَنَ حُجَّتُهُ،
al-Hasan is His argument,
وَ الْحُسَيْنَ حُجَّتُهُ،
al-Husayn is His argument,
وَ عَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ حُجَّتُهُ،
'Ali the son of al-Husayn is His argument,
وَ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ حُجَّتُهُ،
Muhammad the son of 'Ali is His argument,
وَ جَعْفَرَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ حُجَّتُهُ،
Ja'far the son of Muhammad is His argument,
وَ مُوْسَى بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ حُجَّتُهُ،
Musa the son of Ja'far is His argument,
وَ عَلِيَّ بْنَ مُوْسٰى حُجَّتُهُ،
'Ali the son of Musa is His argument,
وَ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ حُجَّتُهُ،
Muhammad the son of 'Ali is His argument,
وَ عَلِيَّ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ حُجَّتُهُ،
'Ali the son of Muhammad is His argument,
وَ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ حُجَّتُهُ،
and al-Hasan the son of 'Ali is His argument.
وَ اَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ حُجَّةُ اللّٰهِ،
I also bear witness that you are verily the argument of Allah.
اَنْتُمُ الْاَوَّلُ وَ الْاٰخِرُ،
You all are the first and the last.
وَ اَنَّ رَجْعَتَكُمْ حَقٌّ لَا رَيْبَ فِيْهَا،
And (I bear witness) that your (promised) Return is undoubtedly true
يَوْمَ لَا يَنْفَعُ نَفْسًا اِيْمَانُهَا،
"On the day when its belief avails not a soul
لَمْ تَكُنْ اٰمَنَتْ مِنْ قَبْلُ
which theretofore believed not,
اَوْ كَسَبَتْ فِيۤ اِيْمَانِهَا خَيْرًا.
nor in its belief earned good by works,"
وَ اَنَّ الْمَوْتَ حَقٌّ،
death is true,
وَ اَنَّ نَاكِرًا وَ نَكِيْرًا حَقٌّ،
and Naakir and Nakir are true.
وَ اَشْهَدُ اَنَّ النَّشْرَ حَقٌّ،
And I bear witness that the Raising for death is true,
وَ الْبَعْثَ حَقٌّ،
the Resurrection is true,
وَ اَنَّ الصِّرَاطَ حَقٌّ،
the Discriminating Bridge is true,
وَ الْمِرْصَادَ حَقٌّ،
the Watchtower is true,
وَ الْمِيْزَانَ حَقٌّ،
the Balance (of deeds) is true,
وَ الْحَشْرَ حَقٌّ،
the Gathering is true,
وَ الْحِسَابَ حَقٌّ،
the Reckoning is true.
وَ الْجَنَّةَ وَ النَّارَ حَقٌّ،
Paradise and Hell are true,
وَ الْوَعْدَ وَ الْوَعِيْدَ بِهِمَا حَقٌّ.
and the promise of Paradise and the threat with Hell are true.
يَا مَوْلَايَ شَقِيَ مَنْ خَالَفَكُمْ،
O My master! Certainly wretched is he who opposes you
وَ سَعِدَ مَنْ اَطَاعَكُمْ،
and certainly happy is he who obeys you.
فَاشْهَدْ عَلٰى مَاۤ اَشْهَدْتُكَ عَلَيْهِ،
So, testify to me all that which I have besought you to testify.
وَ اَنَا وَلِيٌّ لَكَ،
I am verily an ally of you
بَرِيۤءٌ مِنْ عَدُوِّكَ،
and denouncing your enemy.
فَالْحَقُّ مَا رَضِيْتُمُوْهُ،
The truth is only that which you accept,
وَ الْبَاطِلُ مَاۤ اَسْخَطْتُمُوْهُ،
the wrong is only that which you disallow,
وَ الْمَعْرُوْفُ مَاۤ اَمَرْتُمْ بِهِ،
the good is only that which you enjoin,
وَ الْمُنْكَرُ مَا نَهَيْتُمْ عَنْهُ،
and the evil is only that which you forbid.
فَنَفْسِيْ مُؤْمِنَةٌ بِاللّٰهِ،
My soul is thus believing in Allah;
وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ،
One and Only Lord and having no associate,
وَ بِرَسُوْلِهِ وَ بِاَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ،
and also in His Messenger, in the Commander of the Faithful,
وَ بِكُمْ يَا مَوْلَايَ، اَوَّلِكُمْ وَ اٰخِرِكُمْ،
and in you all, O my master, from the beginning to the end.
وَ نُصْرَتِيْ مُعَدَّةٌ لَكُمْ،
I have prepared myself to back you
وَ مَوَدَّتِيْ خَالِصَةٌ لَكُمْ،
and my love is sincerely dedicated to you.
اٰمِيْنَ اٰمِيْنَ۔
Respond! Respond!
SUPPLICATION FOLLOWING ZIYARAT E AALE YASEEN
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّيۤ اَسْاَلُكَ، اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ
O Allah, I beseech You to send blessings upon Muhammad
نَبِيِّ رَحْمَتِكَ، وَ كَلِمَةِ نُوْرِكَ،
the Prophet of Your mercy and the Word of Your Light,
وَ اَنْ تَمْلَاَ قَلْبِيْ نُورَ الْيَقِيْنِ،
and to fill in my heart with the illumination of certitude,
وَ صَدْرِيْ نُوْرَ الْاِيْمَانِ،
my chest with the illumination of faith,
وَ فِكْرِيْ نُوْرَ النِّيَّاتِ،
my intellect with the illumination of honest intentions,
وَ عَزْمِيْ نُوْرَ الْعِلْمِ،
my determination with the illumination of knowledge,
وَ قُوَّتِيْ نُوْرَ الْعَمَلِ،
my strength with the illumination of work,
وَ لِسَانِيْ نُوْرَ الصِّدْقِ،
my tongue with the illumination of honesty,
وَ دِيْنِيْ نُوْرَ الْبَصَاۤئِرِ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ،
my religion with the illumination of clear evidence from You,
وَ بَصَرِيْ نُوْرَ الضِّيَاۤءِ،
my sight with the illumination of brightness,
وَ سَمْعِيْ نُوْرَ الْحِكْمَةِ،
my hearing with the illumination of wisdom,
وَ مَوَدَّتِيْ نُوْرَ الْمُوَالَاةِ لِمُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِهِ
and my faculty of love with the illumination of sincere loyalty to Muhammad and his Household,
عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ،
peace be upon them,
حَتّٰىۤ اَلْقَاكَ وَ قَدْ وَفَيْتُ بِعَهْدِكَ وَ مِيْثَاقِكَ،
so that I, when I meet You, will have fulfilled the pledge and covenant that I made with You
فَتُغَشِّيَنِيْ رَحْمَتَكَ [رَحْمَتُكَ]
and then Your mercy will encompass me.
يَا وَلِيُّ يَا حَمِيْدُ.
O Protector! O Worthy of all praise!
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ
O Allah, bless Muhammad (al-Mahdi)
حُجَّتِكَ فِيۤ اَرْضِكَ،
Your argument in Your land.
وَ خَلِيْفَتِكَ فِيْ بِلَادِكَ،
Your viceroy in Your countries,
وَ الدَّاعِيۤ اِلٰى سَبِيْلِكَ،
the caller to Your course,
وَ الْقَاۤئِمِ بِقِسْطِكَ،
the establisher of Your justice,
وَ الثَّاۤئِرِ بِاَمْرِكَ،
the revolting by Your command,
وَلِيِّ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ
the authority of the believers,
وَ بَوَارِ الْكَافِرِيْنَ،
the ruiner of the unbelievers,
وَ مُجَلِّيْ الظُّلْمَةِ
the remover of the murk,
وَ مُنِيْرِ الْحَقِّ،
the illuminator of the truth,
وَ النَّاطِقِ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَ الصِّدْقِ،
the speaker with wisdom and honesty,
وَ كَلِمَتِكَ التَّآمَّةِ فِيۤ اَرْضِكَ،
the perfect Word of You in Your lands,
الْمُرْتَقِبِ الْخَاۤئِفِ،
the vigilant and fearful,
وَ الْوَلِيِّ النَّاصِحِ،
the well-wishing saint,
سَفِيْنَةِ النَّجَاةِ
the ark of salvation,
وَ عَلَمِ الْهُدٰى،
the sign of guidance,
وَ نُوْرِ اَبْصَارِ الْوَرٰى،
the light of the peoples' sights,
وَ خَيْرِ مَنْ تَقَمَّصَ وَ ارْتَدٰى،
the best of all those who put clothes on their bodies,
وَ مُجَلِّي الْعَمٰىۤ،
and the unveiler of blindness,
اَلَّذِيْ يَمْلَاُ الْاَرْضَ عَدْلًا وَ قِسْطًا،
who will fill the lands with justice and equity
كَمَا مُلِئَتْ ظُلْمًا وَ جَوْرًا،
as it would be filled up with wrong and unfairness.
اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ.
You verily have power over all things.
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى وَلِيِّكَ
O Allah, bless Your vicegerent
وَ ابْنِ اَوْلِيَاۤئِكَ، الَّذِيْنَ فَرَضْتَ طَاعَتَهُمْ،
and the son of Your vicegerents the obedience to whom You have made incumbent upon us
وَ اَوْجَبْتَ حَقَّهُمْ،
and the observance of the right of whom You have made obligatory
وَ اَذْهَبْتَ عَنْهُمُ الرِّجْسَ
and from whom You have removed filth
وَ طَهَّرْتَهُمْ تَطْهِيْرًا.
and whom You have purified with thorough purifying.
اَللّٰهُمَّ انْصُرْهُ وَ انْتَصِرْ بِهِ لِدِيْنِكَ،
O Allah, give him victory and make him the supporter of Your religion
وَ انْصُرْ بِهِ اَوْلِيَاۤءَكَ، وَ اَوْلِيَاۤءَهُ
and through him, give victory to Your and his adherents,
وَ شِيْعَتَهُ وَ اَنْصَارَهُ
followers, and backers.
وَ اجْعَلْنَا مِنْهُمْ.
Include us with them.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَعِذْهُ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ بَاغٍ وَ طَاغٍ،
O Allah, protect him against the evil of every transgressor and tyrant
وَ مِنْ شَرِّ جَمِيْعِ خَلْقِكَ،
and against the evils of all Your creatures.
وَ احْفَظْهُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَ مِنْ خَلْفِهِ
Guard him from ahead of him, behind him,
وَ عَنْ يَمِيْنِهِ وَ عَنْ شِمَالِهِ،
his right side, and his left side.
وَ احْرُسْهُ وَ امْنَعْهُ مِنْ اَنْ يُوْصَلَ اِلَيْهِ بِسُوۤءٍ،
Watch him and defend him against anything that may cause evil to him.
وَ احْفَظْ فِيْهِ رَسُوْلَكَ وَ اٰلَ رَسُوْلِكَ،
Save through him Your Messenger and the family of Your Messenger.
وَ اَظْهِرْ بِهِ الْعَدْلَ،
Manifest justice through him.
وَ اَيِّدْهُ بِالنَّصْرِ،
Aid him with victory.
وَ انْصُرْ نَاصِرِيْهِ،
Help his backers.
وَ اخْذُلْ خَاذِلِيْهِ،
Frustrate those who intend to disappoint him.
وَ اقْصِمْ قَاصِمِيْهِ،
Terminate those who intend to eradicate him.
وَ اقْصِمْ بِهِ جَبَابِرَةَ الْكُفْرِ،
And, through him, terminate the tyrants of unbelief,
وَ اقْتُلْ بِهِ الْكُفَّارَ وَ الْمُنَافِقِيْنَ
kill the disbelievers, the hypocrites,
وَ جَمِيْعَ الْمُلْحِدِيْنَ،
and all atheists,
حَيْثُ كَانُوْا مِنْ مَشَارِقِ الْاَرْضِ وَ مَغَارِبِهَا،
wherever they are; in the east or the west of the earth
بَرِّهَا وَ بَحْرِهَا،
on the lands or in the oceans,
وَ امْلَأْ بِهِ الْاَرْضَ عَدْلًا،
and, through him, fill in the earth with justice,
وَ اَظْهِرْ بِهِ دِيْنَ نَبِيِّكَ،
manifest the religion of Your Prophet,
صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ اٰلِهِ،
blessings and peace of You be upon him and his Household,
وَ اجْعَلْنِيْ اللّٰهُمَّ مِنْ اَنْصَارِهِ وَ اَعْوَانِهِ
make me, O Allah, of his supporters, helpers,
وَ اَتْبَاعِهِ وَ شِيْعَتِهِ،
followers, and adherents;
وَ اَرِنِيْ فِيۤ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ مَا يَأْمُلُوْنَ،
allow me to see the hopes of the family of Muhammad, peace be upon them, come true,
وَ فِي عَدُوِّهِمْ مَا يَحْذَرُوْنَ،
and the hazards of their enemies come true.
اِلٰهَ الْحَقِّ، اٰمِيْنَ
O God of Truth, respond.
يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَ الْاِكْرَامِ،
O Lord of Glory and Honor!
يَاۤ اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ۔
O most merciful of those who show mercy!
