(COMPLETE ZIYARAH WARITH)
In his book of al-Misbah, Shaykh al-Tusi has reported Safwan as saying: One day, I asked Imam al-Sadiq (‘a) to permit me to visit (the holy tomb of) my master Imam al-Husayn (‘a) and also asked him to guide me what to do. The Imam (‘a) said to me:
O Safwan, before you begin your journey, you should fast for three days and, on the third day, wash yourself, gather your family members, and say,
اَللّٰهُمَ اِنِىّۤ اَسْتَوْدِعُكَ
O Allah, I beseech You on this day to accept as trusts my self..
(This supplication has been previously cited in the first of the etiquettes of visiting Imam al-Husayn’s tomb)
Imam al-Sadiq (‘a) then taught Safwan a supplicatory prayer to be said near the River Euphrates. He (‘a) then said:
Wash yourself in the River Euphrates, for my father, on the authority of his fathers, narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s) said, ‘After my demise, my son (al-Husayn) will be killed on the bank of the Euphrates. He who washes himself in that river (intending to visit the tomb of al-Husayn) will have all of his sins eradicated as if he has just been born by his mother.’
As you wash yourself in the river, Imam al-Sadiq (‘a) continued, say the following:
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ وَ بِاللّٰهِ
In the Name of Allah (I begin) and in Allah (I put my trust).
اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ نُوْرًا وَ طَهُوْرًا
O Allah, (I beseech You to) make this water for me light, purification,
وَ حِرْزًا وَ شِفَاۤءً مِنْ كُلِّ دَاۤءٍ
shelter, and remedy from every malady,
وَ سُقْمٍ وَ اٰفَةٍ وَ عَاهَةٍ
ill, epidemic, or defect.
اَللّٰهُمَّ طَهِّرْ بِهِ قَلْبِيْ
O Allah, purify my heart through this water,
وَ اشْرَحْ بِهِ صَدْرِيْ
expand my breast for me,
وَ سَهِّلْ لِيْ بِهِ اَمْرِيْ ۔
and make my affair easy to me.
When you finish washing yourself, Imam al-Sadiq went on, put on two dresses and offer a two-unit prayer not very far from the bank of the river.
As you finish your prayer, direct towards the Ha’ir (i.e. Imam al-Husayn’s shrine) with tranquility and solemnity. As you walk, try to make short steps, for Allah the All-exalted shall record for you the reward of going on hajj (holy pilgrimage to Mecca) and going on ‘Umrah (recommended pilgrimage to Mecca). Try to be pious-hearted with tearful eyes. Repeat as many times as possible the Takbir statement (saying allahu Akbar - Allah is the Most Great), the Tahlil statement (saying la ilaha illa (a)llahu - There is no god but Allah), statements of praising Allah, statements of invoking blessings on the Holy Prophet and his Household in general and blessings on Imam al-Husayn in particular, and statements of cursing those who killed him and those who were the main reason beyond so.
At the door of the Hai’r, you may stop and say the following words:
اَللّٰهُ اَكْبَرُ كَبِيْرًا
Allah is verily the Most Great.
وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ كَثِيْرًا
Very much thanks is due to Allah.
وَ سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ بُكْرَةً وَ اَصِيْلًا
All praise be to Allah in morns and eves.
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ هَدَانَا لِهٰذَا
All praise is due to Allah Who has guided us to this
وَ مَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِيَ لَوْ لَا اَنْ هَدَانَا اللّٰهُ
and we would not have found the way had it not been that Allah guided us.
لَقَدْ جَاۤءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِالْحَقِّ
Certainly, the apostles of our Lord brought the truth.
Then, you should say the following words:
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُوْلَ اللّٰهِ
Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللّٰهِ
Peace be upon you, O Prophet of Allah.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خَاتَمَ النَّبِيِّيْنَ
Peace be upon you, O seal of the prophets.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا سَيِّدَ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ
Peace be upon you, O chief of the Messengers.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حَبِيْبَ اللّٰهِ
Peace be upon you, O most beloved by Allah.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَاۤ اَمِيْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ
Peace be upon you, O commander of the faithful.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا سَيِّدَ الْوَصِيِّيْنَ
Peace be upon you, O chief of the Prophets’ successors.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا قَاۤئِدَ الْغُرِّ الْمُحَجَّلِيْنَ
Peace be upon you, O leader of the white-forehead and whitefooted ones(on the Day of Resurrection).
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ فَاطِمَةَ
Peace be upon you, O son of Fatimah
سَيِّدَةِ نِسَاۤءِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
the doyenne of the women of this world.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ وَ عَلَى الْاَئِمَّةِ مِنْ وُلْدِكَ
Peace be upon you and upon the Imams from your progeny.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَصِيَّ اَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ
Peace be upon you, O successor of the commander of the faithful.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا الصِّدِّيْقُ الشَّهِيْدُ
Peace be upon you, O veracious and martyr.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَا مَلَاۤئِكَةَ اللّٰهِ [رَبِّيْ]
Peace be upon you, O Angels of Allah
الْمُقِيْمِيْنَ فِيْ هٰذَا الْمَقَامِ الشَّرِيْفِ،
who reside in this holy shrine.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَا مَلَاۤئِكَةَ رَبِّي
Peace be upon you, O my Lord’s Angels
الْمُحْدِقِيْنَ بِقَبْرِ الْحُسَيْنِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ
who surround the tomb of al-Husayn, peace be upon him.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنِّيۤ اَبَدًا
Peace be upon all of you forever
مَا بَقِيْتُ وَ بَقِيَ اللَّيْلُ وَ النَّهَارُ
as long as I am existent and as long as there are day and night.
You should then say these words:
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَاۤ اَبَا عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ
Peace be upon you, O Abu-Abdullah.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ رَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ
Peace be upon you, O son of the Messenger of Allah.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ اَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ
Peace be upon you, O son of the commander of the faithful.
عَبْدُكَ وَ ابْنُ عَبْدِكَ وَ ابْنُ اَمَتِكَ
I am your slave and son of your slave and bondmaid.
الْمُقِرُّ بِالرِّقِّ وَ التَّارِكُ لِلْخِلَافِ عَلَيْكُمْ
I confess of my servantship to you, acquit from being opposite to you,
وَ الْمُوَالِيْ لِوَلِيِّكُمْ وَ الْمُعَادِيْ لِعَدُوِّكُمْ
accede to any one who accedes to you, and antagonize an yone who antagonizes you.
قَصَدَ حَرَمَكَ وَ اسْتَجَارَ بِمَشْهَدِكَ
I direct towards your holy shrine, seek shelter with your (burial) place
وَ تَقَرَّبَ اِلَيْكَ بِقَصْدِكَ
and seeking nearness to you through directing to you.
اَاَدْخُلُ يَا رَسُوْلَ اللّٰهِ
O Messenger of Allah, may I enter?
اَاَدْخُلُ يَا نَبِيَّ اللّٰهِ
O Prophet of Allah, may I enter?
اَاَدْخُلُ يَاۤ اَمِيْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ
O Commander of the faithful, may I enter?
اَاَدْخُلُ يَا سَيِّدَ الْوَصِيِّيْنَ
O Chief of the prophets’ successors, may I enter?
اَاَدْخُلُ يَا فَاطِمَةُ سَيِّدَةَ نِسَاۤءِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
O Fatimah the doyenne of the women of the world, may I enter?
اَاَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلَايَ يَاۤ اَبَا عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ
O my master Abu 'Abdullah, may I enter?
اَاَدْخُلُ يَا مَوْلَايَ يَا ابْنَ رَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ۔
O my master and son of the Messenger of Allah, may I enter?
If you feel that your heart has become submissive and your eyes have become tearful, then that will be the sign of permission to enter. You then should enter and say these words:
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الْوَاحِدِ الْاَحَدِ
All praise is due to Allah the One, the Unique,
الْفَرْدِ الصَّمَدِ
the Single, the Absolute,
الَّذِيْ هَدَانِيْ بِوِلَايَتِكَ
Who has guided me to be loyal to you,
وَ خَصَّنِيْ بِزِيَارَتِكَ
given me exclusively the chance to visit your tomb,
وَ سَهَّلَ لِيْ قَصْدَكَ۔
and made it easy for me to direct to you.
You should then come near the door of the dome from the side of the Imam’s head and say these words:
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ اٰدَمَ صَفْوَةِ اللّٰهِ
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Adam the choice of Allah.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ نُوْحٍ نَبِيِّ اللّٰهِ
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Noah the prophet of Allah.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ اِبْرَاهِيْمَ خَلِيْلِ اللّٰهِ
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Abraham the intimate friend of Allah.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ مُوْسٰى كَلِيْمِ اللّٰهِ
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Moses the spoken by Allah.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ عِيْسٰى رُوْحِ اللّٰهِ
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Jesus the spirit of Allah.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ مُحَمَّدٍ حَبِيْبِ اللّٰهِ
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Muhammad the most beloved by Allah.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ اَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ [وَلِيِّ اللّٰهِ]
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ ۟اِلْمُصْطَفٰى
Peace be upon you, O son of Muhammad the well-chosen Prophet.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ عَلِيٍّ ۟اِلْمُرْتَضٰى
Peace be upon you, O son of ‘Ali the well-pleased.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ فَاطِمَةَ الزَّهْرَاۤءِ
Peace be upon you, O son of Fatimah the luminous lady.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ خَدِيْجَةَ الْكُبْرٰى
Peace be upon you, O son of Khadijah the grand lady.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ثَارَ اللّٰهِ وَ ابْنَ ثَارِهِ
Peace be upon you, O vengeance of Allah, son of His vengeance,
وَ الْوِتْرَ الْمَوْتُوْرَ
and the unavenged so far.
اَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ قَدْ اَقَمْتَ الصَّلَاةَ
I bear witness that you performed the prayers,
وَ اٰتَيْتَ الزَّكَاةَ
defrayed the poor-rate,
وَ اَمَرْتَ بِالْمَعْرُوْفِ
enjoined the right,
وَ نَهَيْتَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ
forbade the wrong,
وَ اَطَعْتَ اللّٰهَ وَ رَسُوْلَهُ حَتّٰى اَتَاكَ الْيَقِيْنُ
and obeyed Allah and His Messenger until death came upon you.
فَلَعَنَ اللّٰهُ اُمَّةً قَتَلَتْكَ
So, may Allah curse the people who slew you.
وَ لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ اُمَّةً ظَلَمَتْكَ،
May Allah curse the people who persecuted you.
وَ لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ اُمَّةً سَمِعَتْ بِذٰلِكَ فَرَضِيَتْ بِهِ
May Allah curse the people who were pleased when they had heard of that.
يَا مَوْلَايَ يَاۤ اَبَا عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ
O my Master, O Abu-‘Abdullah!
اَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ كُنْتَ نُوْرًا فِي الْاَصْلَابِ الشَّامِخَةِ
I bear witness that you were light in the sublime loins
وَ الْاَرْحَامِ الْمُطَهَّرَةِ
and purified wombs;
لَمْ تُنَجِّسْكَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةُ بِاَنْجَاسِهَا
the impurities of the Ignorance Era could not object you to filth
وَ لَمْ تُلْبِسْكَ مِنْ مُدْلَهِمَّاتِ ثِيَابِهَا
nor could it dress you its murky clothes.
وَ اَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ مِنْ دَعَاۤئِمِ الدِّيْنِ
I also bear witness that you are one of the mainstays of the religion
وَ اَرْكَانِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ
and the supports of the faithful believers.
وَ اَشْهَدُ اَنَّكَ الْاِمَامُ الْبَرُّ التَّقِيُّ
I also bear witness that you are the Godfearing, pious,
الرَّضِيُّ الزَّكِيُّ
pleased, immaculate,
الْهَادِي الْمَهْدِيُّ
guide, and well-guided Imam.
وَ اَشْهَدُ اَنَّ الْاَئِمَّةَ مِنْ وُلْدِكَ كَلِمَةُ التَّقْوٰى
And (I bear witness) that the Imams from your progeny are the spokesmen of piety,
وَ اَعْلَامُ الْهُدٰى
the signs of guidance,
وَ الْعُرْوَةُ الْوُثْقٰى
the firmest handle (of Islam),
وَ الْحُجَّةُ عَلٰى اَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا
and the decisive Argument against the inhabitants of the world.
وَ اُشْهِدُ اللّٰهَ وَ مَلَاۤئِكَتَهُ
And I call Allah, His angels,
وَ اَنْبِيَاۤءَهُ وَ رُسُلَهُ
His Prophets, and His Messenger
اَنِّيْ بِكُمْ مُؤْمِنٌ وَ بِاِيَابِكُمْ
to witness for me that I believe in you all and in your Return,
مُوْقِنٌ بِشَرَاۤئِعِ دِيْنِيْ وَ خَوَاتِيْمِ عَمَلِيْ
I have full confidence in the laws of my religion and in the seals of my deeds,
وَ قَلْبِيْ لِقَلْبِكُمْ سِلْمٌ
my heart is at peace with you all,
وَ اَمْرِيْ لِاَمْرِكُمْ مُتَّبِعٌ
and all my affairs are based on your commands.
صَلَوَاتُ اللّٰهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَ عَلٰىۤ اَرْوَاحِكُمْ
May Allah’s benedictions be on your souls,
وَ عَلٰىۤ اَجْسَادِكُمْ وَ عَلٰىۤ اَجْسَامِكُمْ
your bodies, your forms,
وَ عَلٰىۤ شَاهِدِكُمْ وَ عَلٰىۤ غَاۤئِبِكُمْ
the present and the absent from you,
وَ عَلٰى ظَاهِرِكُمْ وَ عَلٰى بَاطِنِكُمْ۔
and the apparent and the invisible from you.
Then, you may throw yourself on the tomb, kiss it, and say these words:
بِاَبِيْ اَنْتَ وَ اُمِّيْ يَا ابْنَ رَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ
My father and mother be sacrificed for you, O son of the Messenger of Allah!
بِاَبِيْ اَنْتَ وَ اُمِّيْ يَاۤ اَبَا عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ
My father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Abu 'Abdullah!
لَقَدْ عَظُمَتِ الرَّزِيَّةُ
Extremely terrible was the calamity
وَ جَلَّتِ الْمُصِيْبَةُ بِكَ عَلَيْنَا
and astounding is the misfortune that you suffered upon us
وَ عَلٰى جَمِيْعِ اَهْلِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَ الْاَرْضِ
and upon all the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth.
فَلَعَنَ اللّٰهُ اُمَّةً اَسْرَجَتْ وَ اَلْجَمَتْ
Therefore, Allah may curse the people who saddled up, gave rein to their horses,
وَ تَهَيَّاَتْ لِقِتَالِكَ
and prepared themselves to kill you.
يَا مَوْلَايَ يَاۤ اَبَا عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ
O my Master, O Abu 'Abdullah!
قَصَدْتُ حَرَمَكَ
I moved towards your sanctuary
وَ اَتَيْتُ اِلٰى مَشْهَدِكَ
and came to your shrine
اَسْاَلُ اللّٰهَ بِالشَّأْنِ الَّذِيْ لَكَ عِنْدَهُ
beseeching Allah in the name of the standing that you enjoy with Him
وَ بِالْمَحَلِّ الَّذِيْ لَكَ لَدَيْهِ
and the position that you occupy with Him
اَنْ يُصَلِّيَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
to send blessings on Muhammad and on the Household of Muhammad
وَ اَنْ يَجْعَلَنِيْ مَعَكُمْ فِيْ الدُّنْيَا وَ الْاٰخِرَةِ۔
and to keep me with you in this world and in the Hereafter.
Then, you should stand up for offering a two-unit prayer next to the side of the Imam’s head. In this prayer, you can recite any Surah you like. When you finish, you should say these words:
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّيْ صَلَّيْتُ وَ رَكَعْتُ وَ سَجَدْتُ
O Allah, I have offered a prayer, genuflected, and prostrated myself
لَكَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَكَ
for Your sake purely without setting any partner with You
لِاَنَّ الصَّلَاةَ وَ الرُّكُوْعَ وَ السُّجُوْدَ
since all prayers, genuflection, and prostration
لَا يَكُوْنُ اِلَّا لَكَ
suit none except You.
لِاَنَّكَ اَنْتَ اللّٰهُ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ
Because You are Allah, there in no god save You.
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
O Allah, (please) send blessings on Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,
وَ اَبْلِغْهُمْ عَنِّيْ اَفْضَلَ السَّلَامِ وَ التَّحِيَّةِ
and convey to them my best greetings and compliments
وَ ارْدُدْ عَلَيَّ مِنْهُمُ السَّلَامَ
and convey to me their replies.
اَللّٰهُمَّ وَ هَاتَانِ الرَّكْعَتَانِ
O Allah, these two units of prayer
هَدِيَّةٌ مِنِّيۤ اِلٰى مَوْلَايَ
are present from me to my master
الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ
al-Husayn the son of ‘Ali, peace be upon both of them.
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ عَلَيْهِ
O Allah, send blessings on Muhammad and on him,
وَ تَقَبَّلْ مِنِّيْ وَ أْجُرْنِيْ عَلٰى ذٰلِكَ
accept my effort, and reward me for it
بِاَفْضَلِ اَمَلِيْ وَ رَجَاۤئِيْ فِيْكَ
in the best rewarding that I anticipate and hope from
وَ فِيْ وَلِيِّكَ يَا وَلِيَّ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ۔
You and from Your saint, O Guardian of the faithful!
Then, move to the side of the Imam’s feet, stop at the place of the head of ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn (‘a) and say the following words:
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ رَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ
Peace be upon you, O son of the Messenger of Allah.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ نَبِيِّ اللّٰهِ
Peace be upon you, O son of the Prophet of Allah.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ اَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ
Peace be upon you, O son of the commander of the faithful.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ الشَّهِيْدِ
Peace be upon you, O son of al-Husayn the martyr.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا الشَّهِيْدُ
Peace be upon you, O martyr.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا الْمَظْلُوْمُ وَ ابْنُ الْمَظْلُوْمِ
Peace be upon you, O wronged and harassed and the son of the wrong and harassed.
لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ اُمَّةً قَتَلَتْكَ
Curse of Allah be on those who killed you.
وَ لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ اُمَّةً ظَلَمَتْكَ
Curse of Allah be on those who persecuted you.
وَ لَعَنَ اللّٰهُ اُمَّةً سَمِعَتْ بِذٰلِكَ فَرَضِيَتْ بِهِ۔
Curse of Allah be on those who heard this even but rested satisfied.
You should then throw yourself on the tomb, kiss it, and say the following words:
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَلِيَّ اللّٰهِ وَ ابْنَ وَلِيِّهِ
Peace be upon you, O intimate servant of Allah and the son of His intimate servant.
لَقَدْ عَظُمَتِ الْمُصِيْبَةُ
Extremely terrible was the calamity
وَ جَلَّتِ الرَّزِيَّةُ بِكَ عَلَيْنَا
and astounding is the misfortune that you suffered, upon us
وَ عَلٰى جَمِيْعِ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ
and upon all Muslims.
فَلَعَنَ اللّٰهُ اُمَّةً قَتَلَتْكَ
So, curse of Allah be on those who killed you
وَ اَبْرَاُ اِلَى اللّٰهِ وَ اِلَيْكَ مِنْهُمْ۔
and I disavow them in the presence of Allah and You.
You should then leave from the door that is at the side of ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn’s feet, direct towards the martyrs, and say the following words:
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَاۤ اَوْلِيَاۤءَ اللّٰهِ وَ اَحِبَّاۤءَهُ
Peace be upon all of you, O friends and dears of Allah.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَاۤ اَصْفِيَاۤءَ اللّٰهِ وَ اَوِدَّاۤءَهُ
Peace be upon all of you, O choice of Allah and sincerely attached to Him.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَاۤ اَنْصَارَ دِيْنِ اللّٰهِ
Peace be upon all of you, O supporters of Allah’s religion.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَاۤ اَنْصَارَ رَسُوْلِ اللّٰهِ
Peace be upon all of you, O supporters of the Messenger of Allah.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَاۤ اَنْصَارَ اَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ
Peace be upon all of you, O supporters of the Commander of the Faithful.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَاۤ اَنْصَارَ فَاطِمَةَ سَيِّدَةِ نِسَاۤءِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
Peace be upon all of you, O supporters of Fatimah the doyenne of the women of this world.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَاۤ اَنْصَارَ اَبِيْ مُحَمَّدٍ
Peace be upon all of you, O supporters of Abu Muhammad,
۟اِلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ۟اِلْوَلِيِّ [الزَّكِيِ] النَّاصِحِ
al-Hasan the son of ‘Ali, the saintly and sincere.
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَاۤ اَنْصَارَ اَبِيْ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ
Peace be upon all of you, O supporters of Abu-'Abdullah.
بِاَبِيۤ اَنْتُمْ وَ اُمِّيْ
My father and mother be sacrificed for you.
طِبْتُمْ وَ طَابَتِ الْاَرْضُ الَّتِيْ [اَنْتُمْ] فِيْهَا دُفِنْتُمْ
Verily, pure be you and pure be the soil in which you were buried.
وَ فُزْتُمْ فَوْزًا عَظِيْمًا
You attained great success.
فَيَا لَيْتَنِيْ كُنْتُ مَعَكُمْ فَاَفُوْزَ مَعَكُمْ ۔
Would that I were with you so that I could also share the accomplishment with you.
You should then return to the place near the head of Imam al-Husayn (‘a), supplicate Almighty Allah as much as you can, and pray for yourself, your family members, your parents, and your friends, because any prayer in the holy shrine of Imam al-Husayn (‘a) shall never be rejected.
