ANOTHER DUA FOR AILING DISEASES

An ailed person is recommended to purchase one sa’ of wheat, lie on his back, disperse the wheat grains on his chest, and say the following supplicatory prayer:

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّىْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ

O Allah, I beseech You in the name of Your Name—

الَّذِىْ اِذَا سَئَلَكَ بِهِ الْمُضْطَرُّ كَشَفْتَ مَابِهِ مِنْ ضُرٍّ

if the distressed asks You by Your Name, You shall remove whatever harm he suffers,

وَّ مَكَّنْتَ لَهُ فِى الْاَرْضِ

give him power in the land,

وَ جَعَلْتَهُ خَلِيْفَتَكَ عَلٰى خَلْقِكَ

and make him Your representative among Your creatures

اَنْ تُصَلِّىَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ عَلٰى اَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ

to bless Muhammad and his Household

وَ اَنْ تُعَافِيَنِىْ مِنْ عِلَّتِىْ۔

and to cure me of my ailment.

He may then sit, gather the wheat grains around him, repeat the same supplicatory prayer, divide the wheat grains into four shares, give each share to a poor man, and repeat the same supplicatory prayer. Once an ailed person does all that, he will be restored to health, Allah willing.
