HIRZ E IMAM ALI AL NAQI (A)

Eighth: This evil-repelling prayer is ascribed to Imam ‘Ali ibn Muhammad al-Naqi al-Hadi (‘a):

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

In the Name of Allah; the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

يَا عَزِيْزَ الْعِزِّ فِىْ عِزِّهِ

O Mighty of all might in His almightiness!

مَا اَعَزَّ عَزِيْزَ الْعِزِّ فِى عِزِّهِ

How mighty the mighty of all might in His almightiness is!

يَا عَزِيْزُ اَعِزَّنِىْ بِعِزِّكَ

O Mighty, (please) make me mighty in the name of Your almightiness,

وَ اَيِّدْنِىْ بِنَصْرِكَ

aide me with Your support,

وَادْفَعْ عَنِّىْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِيْنِ

ward off from me the inspirations of devils,

وَادْفَعْ عَنِّىْ بِدَفْعِكَ

defend me with Your defense,

وَامْنَعْ عَنِّىْ بِصُنْعِكَ

protect me with Your making,

وَاجْعَلْنِىْ مِنْ خِيَارِ خَلْقِكَ

and make me of the best of Your creatures.

يَا وَاحِدُ يَاۤ اَحَدُ

O One! O One and Only!

يَا فَرْدُ يَا صَمَدُ

O Unique! O eternally besought of all.
