DUA DURING THE OCCULTATION OF IMAM MAHDI (A) - SHORT
Thirty-second: Shaykh al-Kulayni and others have reported that Imam al-Sadiq (‘a) taught Zurarah to say this supplicatory prayer in the age of the occultation of Imam al-Mahdi (‘a) and when the Shi’ah are exposed to tribulations:
اَللّٰهُمَّ عَرِّفْنِىْ نَفْسَكَ
O Allah, make me recognize You,
فَاِنَّكَ اِنْ لَمْ تُعَرِّفْنِىْ نَفْسَكَ
because if You do not make me recognize You,
لَمْ اَعْرِفْ نَبِيَّكَ
I will not recognize Your Prophet.
اَللّٰهُمَّ عَرِّفْنِىْ رَسُوْلَكَ
O Allah, make me recognize Your Messenger,
فَاِنَّكَ اِنْ لَمْ تُعَرِّفْنِىْ رَسُوْلَكَ
because if You do not make me recognize Your Messenger,
لَمْ اَعْرِفْ حُجَّتَكَ
I will not recognize Your Argument.
اَللّٰهُمَّ عَرِّفْنِىْ حُجَّتَكَ
O Allah, make me recognize Your Argument,
فَاِنَّكَ اِنْ لَمْ تُعَرِّفْنِىْ حُجَّتَكَ
because if You do not make me recognize Your Argument,
ضَلَلْتُ عَنْ دِيْنِىْ۔
I will stray off the path to my religion.
