THE SUPPLICATION ON SUNDAYS
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
In the Name of Allah, the All- compassionate, the All-merciful.
بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِىْ لَا اَرْجُوْ اِلَّا فَضْلَهٗ
In the name of Allah, from whom I hope for nothing but bounty,
وَ لَا اَخْشٰى اِلَّا عَدْلَهٗ
I fear nothing but justice,
وَ لَا اَعْتَمِدُ اِلَّا قَوْلَهٗ
I rely upon nothing but His word,
وَ لَا اُمْسِكُ اِلَّا بِحَبْلِهٖ
and I cling to nothing but His Rope.
بِكَ اَسْتَجِيْرُ يَا ذَالْعَفْوِ وَالرِّضْوَانِ
In You do I seek sanctuary O Possessor of pardon and good pleasure
مِنَ الظُّلْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ
from wrong and enmity,
وَ مِنْ غِيَرِ الزَّمَانِ
from the vicissitudes of time
وَ تَوَاتُرِ الْاَحْزَانِ
from recurrence of sorrows,
وَ طَوَارِقِ الْحَدَثَانِ
from the striking of mishaps,
وَ مِنِ انْقِضَاۤءِ الْمُدَّةِ قَبْلَ التَّاَهُّبِ وَ الْعُدَّةِ
and from the expiration of the term before preparation and readiness.
وَ اِيَّاكَ اَسْتَرْشِدُ لِمَا فِيْهِ الصَّلَاحُ وَالْاِصْلَاحُ
From You do I seek guidance to that wherein is righteousness and setting aright.
وَ بِكَ اَسْتَعِيْنُ فِيْمَا يَقْتَرِنُ بِهٖ النَّجَاحُ وَالْاِنْجَاحُ
From You do I seek help in that which is linked to success and favorable response.
وَ اِيَّاكَ اَرْغَبُ فِىْ لِبَاسِ الْعَافِيَةِ وَ تَمَامِهَا
From You do I desire for the garment of wellbeing and its completion,
وَ شُمُوْلِ السَّلَامَةِ وَ دَوَامِهَا
and the covering of health and its permanence.
وَ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ يَا رَبِّ مِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِيْنِ
I seek refuge in You, O my Lord, from the evil suggestions of the devils.
وَ اَحْتَرِزُ بِسُلْطَانِكَ مِنْ جَوْرِ السَّلَاطِيْنِ
I seek protection in Your sovereignty from the injustice of the sovereigns.
فَتَقَبَّلْ مَا كَانَ مِنْ صَلَاتِىْ وَ صَوْمِىْ
So, (please) accept my past prayers and fasting,
وَاجْعَلْ غَدِىْ وَمَا بَعْدَهٗ اَفْضَلَ مِنْ سَاعَتِىْ وَ يَوْمِىْ
make my morrow and what is after it better than my present hour and my day,
وَ اَعِزَّنِىْ فِىْ عَشِيْرَتِىْ وَ قَوْمِىْ
exalt me in my clan and people,
وَاحْفَظْنِىْ فِىْ يَقْظَتِىْ وَ نَوْمِىْ
and protect me in my waking and sleep,
فَاَنْتَ اللهُ خَيْرٌ حَافِظًا
for You are Allah, the Best Guardian,
وَّ اَنْتَ اَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
and You are the most Merciful of all those who show mercy.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّىْ اَبْرَءُ اِلَيْكَ فِىْ يَوْمِىْ هٰذَا
O Allah, I repudiate, before You on this day of mine
وَ مَا بَعْدَهٗ مِنَ الْاَحَادِ
and on all Sundays that follow it,
مِنَ الشِّرْكِ وَالْاِلْحَادِ
polytheism and atheism.
وَ اُخْلِصُ لَكَ دُعَاۤئِىْ
I devote my supplication sincerely to You,
تَعَرُّضًا لِلْاِجَابَةِ
addressing myself to Your response.
وَ اُقِيْمُ عَلٰى طَاعَتِكَ
I observe the acts of obedience to You
رَجَاۤءً لِلْاِثَابَةِ
for hope of gaining Your rewards.
فَصَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ خَيْرِ خَلْقِكَ
So, (please) bless Muhammad, the best of Your creation
الدَّاعِىْ اِلٰى حَقِّكَ
and the caller to Your truth,
وَ اَعِزَّنِىْ بِعِزِّكَ الَّذِىْ لَا يُضَامُ
and fortify me with Your almightiness, which is invulnerable,
وَاحْفَظْنِىْ بِعَيْنِكَ الَّتِىْ لَا تَنَامُ
protect me with Your Eye, which never sleeps,
وَاخْتِمْ بِالْاِنْقِطَاعِ اِلَيْكَ اَمْرِىْ
and seal my affair by acting devoutly to You
وَ بِالْمَغْفِرَةِ عُمْرِىْ
and my life with forgiveness!
اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ الْغَفُوْرُ الرَّحِيْمُ۔
Surely, You are the All-forgiving, the All- compassionate!
