IMAM AL-HASAN’S SUPPLICATION

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّي اَتَقَرَّبُ اِلَيْكَ بِجُوْدِكَ وَ كَرَمِكَ

O Allah, I seek nearness to You in the name of Your magnanimity and nobility.

وَ اَتَقَرَّبُ اِلَيْكَ بِمُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَ رَسُوْلِكَ

I seek nearness to You in the name of Muhammad, Your servant and messenger.

وَ اَتَقَرَّبُ اِلَيْكَ بِمَلَاۤئِكَتِكَ الْمُقَرَّبِيْنَ

I seek nearness to You in the name of Your Favorite Angels

وَ اَنْبِيَاۤئِكَ وَ رُسُلِكَ

and Your prophets and messengers,

اَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ

[and I beseech You] to send blessings to Muhammad,

عَبْدِكَ وَ رَسُوْلِكَ

Your servant and messenger,

وَ عَلٰى اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

and upon the Household of Muhammad,

وَ اَنْ تُقِيْلَنِيْ عَثْرَتِيْ

overlook my slips,

وَ تَسْتُرَ عَلَيَّ ذُنُوْبِيْ

cover my sins,

وَ تَغْفِرَهَا لِيْ

forgive them for me,

وَ تَقْضِيَ لِيْ حَوَاۤئِجِيْ

settle all my needs,

وَ لَا تُعَذِّبَنِيْ بِقَبِيْحٍ كَانَ مِنِّي

and not to punish me for the evildoings that I have committed.

فَاِنَّ عَفْوَكَ وَ جُوْدَكَ يَسَعُنِيْ

Verily, Your pardon and magnanimity include me.

اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْ‏ءٍ قَدِيْرٌ۔

Verily, You have power over all things.
